The Police in Jigawa on Saturday arrested two suspects over their alleged involvement in the farmers-herdsmen clash in Guri Local Government Area of the state.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Abdu Jinjiri, confirmed the arrest in Hadejia.
The clash began at Una-Kadara community on Friday when farmers accused herdsmen of encroaching into their farmlands.
Mr. Jinjiri, who said normalcy had returned to the area, however, said that six persons sustained injuries during the clash.
He also said the command had deployed police officers to the area to maintain law and order, noting that the police had begun investigation on the causes of the clash.
Reacting to the clash, Lawan Abdu, the Secretary to the State Government, called on farmers and herdsmen to embrace dialogue in resolving their differences.
He made the call when members of the State Security Committee visited the scene of the clash at Una-Kadara on Sarturday.
He said that the state government had set up farmers-herdsmen conflict resolution committees to promote peaceful co-existence in communities across the state.
Mr. Abdu also urged security agencies to harmonise their operations to enhance security in the state.
