Three passengers were feared dead and several others injured on Thursday in an accident in Tangaza Local Government Area of Sokoto State.
The bus conveying the victims had the accident while heading to Tangaza. It was coming from Warri in Delta State.
A witness narrated how the accident happened.
“I was standing a few meters away from the scene. I saw three people who definitely appeared dead. I saw eleven other people who sustained various degrees of injuries. They have been taken to the hospital but some of them were in a critical condition,” the witness who refused to disclose his name said.
The Sokoto State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, Umar Gummi, confirmed the accident to PREMIUM TIMES, but said the casualty was yet to be ascertained.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of Tangaza Local Government Area, Muhammad Mahdi, has assured that the council would foot the medical bills of the injured.
