Ado Bayero will lead the Kano Durbar this year.
The Emir of Kano, Ado Bayero, has arrived at the Malam Aminu Kano Airport amidst a rousing welcome by his subjects.
The emir had travelled abroad on a medical trip.
Thousands of Kano residents gathered at the airport and the road linking the airport to the Emir’s palace to glance a view at the Emir and welcome him.
The Emir is expected to lead the annual Durbar celebration to mark the Islamic Eid-el-Kabir festival that comes up in the middle of October.
Last year’s celebration was cancelled as the emir was recuperating abroad after sustaining injuries after an attack by suspected Boko Haram terrorists on his convoy.
