Isa Waziri has been buried in Kano.
A member of the Kano Emirate Council and Waziri of Kano, Isa Waziri, is dead.
Aged 88, Mr. Waziri died on Friday evening at his Tudun Wazirci residence in Kano metropolis after a protracted illness.
This is contained in a statement signed by Faruk Usman, a member of the royal family.
The late Wazirin Kano was before his death the pioneer Imam of Murtala Muhammad Mosque in Kano.
He was later appointed the Chief Imam of Kano and later the Wazirin Kano by the Emir of Kano, Ado Bayero.
He served as a Special Adviser to the Emir of Kano on Religious Matters, Sharia Court Judge, school teacher and a principal.
Mr. Waziri is survived by two wives, many children and grand children and has since been buried according to Islamic rites at his Tudun Wazirci residence.
Among those who attended the burial were members of the Emirate Council, traditional rulers and top government functionaries.
