Labour Party declared that it is obviously the next choice for Ogun State come 2015.

The Ogun State Chapter of the Labour Party, LP, on Tuesday sent out a note of caution to aggrieved members of the troubled Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the state who may want to move to its fold for ‘selfish reasons’ ahead of the 2015 polls to keep off.

The party chairman, Olabode Simeon, said this in Abeokuta at a press conference, where he specifically declared that no moneybags would be allowed to hijack the party. He said that there was no doubt that PDP in Ogun State is already in coma hence the next destination of choice ahead of the next elections is obviously the Labour Party.

“It is obvious that the viable option for Ogun State to regain her lost glory politically and move from greatness to greatness is Labour Party,” the chairman said.

“We are not going to allow any ‘jagaban’ or moneybags to take control of our party. Whoever wants to join now should do so and not wait for election time. No room for ‘Baba Sope’ candidates,” he declared.

He also informed that Labour Party has zoned the governorship to Ogun West Senatorial District, attributing the decision to the fact that the zone had all along been marginalised since the creation of the state.

“Labour Party is coming up with Ogun new and fresh faces that will give everyone of us a new breath of life and hope for the future in 2014/15 general elections. Labour Party Ogun State chapter does not and will not desperately need some of this discredited politicians from PDP to win an election,” Mr. Simeon emphasised.

The chairman boasted that his party will surely take over from the current government in 2015 and asked residents of the state to join and support the party.
