The victims are being treated at a hospital.
Gunmen on Wednesday in Kano attacked a police truck conveying officers to their duty post. At least nine police officers sustained various degrees of injuries, with one in critical condition, from the attack.
The attack occurred at Dorayi by Sabon Titi Junction; two days after suicide bombers killed at least 22 people and a day after a female police officer was shot dead also in Kano.
The nine injured officers were taken to the Armed Forces Specialist Hospital, Kano for treatment.
The victims were visited by the Kano State Governor, Rabiu Kwakwanso, and other dignitaries at the hospital.
“One of the police officers, who sustained serious injury, has been transferred to Dala Orthopaedic hospital, Kano,’’ a medical officer, who led the governor and his entourage to the victims, said.
The officer, who pleaded anonymity, confirmed that the police officers were ambushed by suspected gunmen in the morning.
