The Kaduna governor condemned the killings.
The Kaduna State Governor, Ramalan Yero, has visited Aduwan Gida Village in Zangon Kataf Local Government Area, over the recent attack in the area.
During the visit, Mr. Yero visited bereaved families of victims of the attack, which was carried out on Sunday night by yet to be identified gunmen.
The governor condemned the attack describing it as unwarranted.
He promised to ensure that those behind the attacks are arrested and prosecuted accordingly.
Mr. Yero also paid a condolence visit to the Agwam Bajju, Nuhu Bature, at his palace where he reassured the traditional ruler of his government’s commitment to safeguarding the lives and property of the entire residents of the State.
He also visited victims of the attack who are receiving treatment at St. Louis Hospital, Zonkwa where he directed that those with severe injuries be immediately transferred to the 44 Nigerian Army Reference Hospital Kaduna. He also stated that the government would bear the cost of treatment for all the victims.
While reiterating his administration’s commitment to genuine peaceful coexistence in Kaduna State, Governor Yero vowed to deal decisively with any person or group found attempting to breach security in the State.
He appealed to the people to remain calm, pledging that his administration will ensure that perpetrators not only of the Aduwan Gida, but all other such attacks, are brought to book within the shortest possible time.
The Governor prayed that God grant the soul of the departed eternal rest and grant their families the fortitude to bear the loss.
On his part, the Agwam Bajju thanked the governor for the visit and reassured of his people’s readiness to cooperate with government in bringing lasting peace to the area and the State.
