The remains of the Emir of Dukku, Abdulkadir Rasheed, were on Tuesday interred in Dukku, Gombe State.
Bala Mohammed, the Secretary of the Dukku Emirate Council, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Dukku on Tuesday that the emir, who died at the ripe age of 91, had three wives, 53 children and many grand children.
He said that the emir died on Monday night at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) Gombe, following a protracted illness.
Gov. Ibrahim Dankwambo of Gombe State and other top government officials attended the funeral prayer.
Some dignitaries at the prayer include the Emir of Gombe, Shehu Abubakar, and the Emir of Kaltungo, Sale Mohammed.
After the prayer, Mr. Dankwambo commiserated with the deceased’s family and the people of the state.
He said that the country would always remember the late emir for his immense contributions to nation-building efforts.
