Muhammadu Buhari described late Mr. Yakowa as a promoter of peace.
Former Head of State, Muhammadu Buhari, has extolled the virtues of the late Governor of Kaduna State, Patrick Yakowa, saying that in spite of the diverse challenges affecting the state, Mr. Yakowa was still able to unite and promote peaceful coexistence amongst the people.
The former leader, who spoke at the residence of the deceased, advised public officers to emulate the good virtues displayed by the late governor towards promoting peace, unity and development.
The wife of the Vice-President, Amina Sambo, also joined hundreds of sympathisers that commiserated with the family of the deceased on Sunday.
Mrs. Sambo was accompanied by a large delegation of women, who were there to condole with the former governor’s wife, Amina Yakowa, the government and people of the state.
Others who condoled with the family were the former Military Administrator of the State, Jafaru Isa; former Kaduna governor, Ahmed Makarfi; and former Chairman, National Population Commission, Samuila Makama.
The late governor’s opponent in the 2011 election, Suleiman Hunkuyi; traditional rulers; women groups; and members of the Knights of St. Mulumba also commiserated with the family.
