The Minister of Interior, Abdulrahaman Dambazau, has urged Nigerians to be united in spite of the escalation of violence over the agitation by the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, which has claimed lives in some parts of the country.

The minister made the appeal at Government House, Jos, while speaking with journalists shortly after he met with the governor of Plateau State, Simon Lalong, and heads of security agencies in the state.

The closed door meeting followed an ethnic clash in Jos in which two persons were confirmed dead on Thursday.

“Nigeria will remain one in spite of the uprising by the IPOB. I can assure you that government is in total control,” Mr. Dambazau said.

Asked to comment on the agitation by residents of Abia State for the withdrawal of soldiers who are undertaking a military exercise in the state, Mr. Danbazau said the Minister of Defence was in a better position to speak on the issue.

He however reiterated that the presence of soldiers anywhere in the country was for the safety of citizens, urging citizens to cooperate with security agents to curtail violence.

In a related development, the Chairman of Plateau State Youth Council, Fabong Jemchang, has demanded that the leaders of the warring parties in Thursday Jos riot should be made to produce those behind the violence for prosecution.

Mr. Jemchang insisted that perpetrators of the riot must be brought to justice.

“We are calling on members of both the Igbo and Hausa communities in Jos and Bukuru metropolis to help the State Government to fish out the perpetrators of these acts and criminal elements in their midst,” he said.

Mr. Jemchang, who cautioned youth to shun violence, called on governors of the south-east states to ensure protection of lives and property of all residents of their states.

He said, “We are appealing to governors in the south-east to ensure the safety of all ethnic groups within their state and support the federal government in restoring law and order in the region.”

He reiterated Plateau youth’s support for government at all levels towards restoring peace and harmony in Nigeria.

“We are in support of the federal government’s resolve to ensure Nigeria is one and also, we stand with all security agencies in working to ensure that law and order are maintained while encouraging them to shun any blackmail in the course of their work,” Mr. Jemchang said.

    ABDULRAHMAN DANBAZAU

, a mass murderer who was made Interior Minister controls all the security forces. His fingerprint is all over the place. It was he who sent the helicopter that supported Fulani herdsmen during the Agatu massacre. Try as he ma, he cannot exornerate himself from the present on-going genocide in the South-east.
    .
    2. His term as army chief of staff would be remembered for

    a. The convoys of military equipment delivered to Boko Haram in Mosques and other places with full military escort.

    b. Danbazau is the former Army Chief of Staff the Australian lawyer referred to in connection with sponsorship of Boko Haram and supply of equippment to them. It was not Gen. Ihejirika as the Hausa-Fulani propaganda machine deceitfully made it out to be. Bad news for them – Western Intelligence Agencies are fully aware of this.

    b. Militarization of Fulani cattle herders who wore military uniforms and, using sophisticated weapons (including machine guns), slaughtered thousands of people in the Middle Belt areas and razed town after town and village after village.

.Danbazau masterminded the genocide against the Birom people of Jos

    c. Extension of the heinous acts of the cow herders southwards to SS, SE, and SW as far as Suburbs of Port Harcourt and close to Lagos. They destroyed farms, raped women, engaged in armed robbery and kidnapping with impunity

    d. The beautiful city of Jos and surrounding towns and villages were destroyed during his tenure.

    e. Mismanagement of funds meant for equipping the army and building modern facilities such as hospitals for them.

    3. Danbazau’s place should be at ICC not in Nigerian government.

It is being speculated that this evil man plans to use the same tactics he used in the genocide of Jos in the South-East. That is to say, when the mass killing of Igbos starts in the North in October he will use the forces deployed there to repress any protest.

But this is an opportunity to get rid of him and this evil regime. The military should take note, especially the Christian rank and file from North Central, South west, South-south and South-east. Do not stand by and watch because the same thing will happen to your own folks wherever they are. Take note of the following

“First they came for the Jewsand I did not speak out because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for the Communists and I did not speak out because I was not a Communist.
Then they came for the trade unionists and I did not speak out because I was not a trade unionist.
Then they came for me and there was no one left to speak out for me.”

Yes Nigeria is better one, but under which conditions. You can’t beat a child and point a gun on him not cry NO! its not being done the political arrangement of Nigeria has to be renegotiated so that we can be real one, not paying lip service to oneness.

  • BEN IKARI

That or this is the problem! Statements as these imposing the will of the so-called born to rule Hausa-Fulani ethnic people who are using guns to steal South-south oil and gas to survive while the owners are polluted and killed by their armed forces, and who monopolizes and manipulates the entity formed and unlawfully imposed on unwilling peoples by the British that poses actual threat. Those who have natural and fundamental rights to exist and control their affairs poses no threats. They are only acknowledging and exercising their obligation so demanding to stay on their own as guaranteed by international law on self-determination which Nigeria is signatory. Except greed and strategy for Hausa-Fulani, even Yoruba and Igbo politicians, rulers and cabal to survive at the behest of all what else could be behind forcing unwilling peoples to remain one in a country evidence shows isn’t one and can never be one except the application of force, which remains the palpable threat to a continuous existence? Certain peoples do not want to live with certain other peoples, what on earth is making the born to rule mentality people (Hausa-Fulanis) forcing, fighting and decreeing: we must all live together even if we’re exploiting and cheating, polluting and oppressing—-killing you; isn’t this unwillingness and inability to dialogue and negotiate hence amoral imposition the reason the country has been in crisis and conflicts, beating and dancing to the drums and threats of war since its illegal creation and independence? Are these not the same Hausa-Fulanis or Northerners who didn’t want to be part of Nigeria before its unlawful independence; oh, they’ve been in charge of affairs so enjoying the criminally acquired fruits of oil wealth and other benefits? Well, nothing in life is conclusive. Let’s wait and see how Hausa-Fulanis and their Yoruba, Igbo political counterparts will turn when oil runs out; would they demand a new country of theirs out of the current shame?
