The governor of Kwara State, Abdulfatah Ahmed, has dissolved all the 16 local government councils in the state.
A statement by the secretary to the state government, Sola Gold, said the dissolution of the councils was with effect from Friday.
The statement directed all chairmen, vice chairmen, councillors, secretaries to the councils and supervisors to vacate their offices and hand over to their respective directors of personnel management (DPMs).
Mr. Ahmed thanked the affected council chiefs for their contributions to the development of the state and wished them success in their future endeavours.
