The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Globacom Plc, Michael Adenuga , will deliver the convocation address at the University of Ilorin’s 32nd convocation ceremony scheduled to take place between October 17 and 22.
PREMIUM TIMES gathered that Mr. Adenuga will be joined by the Secretary General of the Association of Commonwealth Universities, John Wood, who will be delivering the Convocation lecture titled “Impact of Commonwealth Scholarship Program on Education and Economic Development in Commonwealth Countries” on October 20 at the University Auditorium by 10 a.m.
Other events lined up for the convocation ceremonies include the Vice-Chancellor’s Press Briefing, scheduled for 10 a.m. on October 17 at the University Auditorium; and the Convocation Play titled “The Vanity of Human Despiration”, an adaptation of Kola Ogunmola’s The Palmwine Drunkard, which will be staged on October 18 at the University’s Performing Arts Theatre by 4 p.m. A Jumaat Prayer is scheduled for the University Central Mosque on October 14 by 1 p.m.; while prayers for the success of the 32nd convocation will hold at the UNILORIN Chapel of Light on October 16 by 9:30 a.m.
Award of prizes, first degrees and diplomas for Faculties of Arts, Education, Law, Management Sciences and Social Sciences will hold on October 21 while award of prizes and degrees for Faculties of Agriculture, Engineering and Technology, Basic Medical Sciences, Clinical Sciences, Communication and Information Sciences, Life Sciences, Physical Sciences and Postgraduate Degrees and Diplomas will take place on October 22 at the University Auditorium by 10 a.m. This will be followed by commissioning of projects at the various sites on campus and the Convocation Luncheon and Merit Awards at the Multi-Purpose Hall by 3 p.m.
Meanwhile, PREMIUM TIMES gathered that the university management has directed all 2015/2016 graduating students of the institution to check their names on the list of graduands displayed on the university website (www.unilorin.edu.ng).
