Suspected gunmen reportedly shot and killed a pastor with Living Faith church Wednesday evening at Kuru, Jos south Local Government Area of Plateau state.
A witness who spoke on the condition of anonymity told PREMIUM TIMES the remains of the clergy was abandoned by the roadside at about 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
“He is a pastor of Living Faith Church Kuru Karma at Gada Bui area in Barakinladi Local Government Area of Plateau State. His body is presently lying beside the road where he has just dropped off a vehicle he boarded from Bukuru.”
In the morning of the same day, a woman was allegedly shot dead by members of the Special Taskforce on Jos crisis STF at Hiapan, in Barkinladi Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The Police Public Relation Officer of the state command, Abuh Emmanuel, confirmed the Hiapan incident, but could not speak further on the circumstances that led to the death of the woman.
Residents of the area said that the deceased was among women protesting incessant killings in Barkinladi recently.
Our source explained that the protesting women embarked on a peaceful protest at a security check point on the Barkinladi/ Mangu road when the security operatives open fire on the crowd.
