Some officers of Nigerian Army on Sunday reportedly shot and killed one person and injured two others in Zango, Tudun Wada area of Kaduna state, a resident said Monday.

A witness, who pleaded anonymity for fear of victimization, said, “The soldiers were passing the area and met Umar and the two other people along the Zango road. So the soldiers asked them if there was a road to pass there. They told them there was no road. One of the soldiers asked why they would say there is no road.
“One of the soldiers then said the person that said there was no road must follow them. So the other two objected that and they soldiers started shooting. Umar was shot in the chest and died on the spot while the two others have been taken to the hospital for treatment.”
