The Kogi Police Command has rescued Abdulazeez Ohere, Director of Local Government, Adavi Local Government Area of Kogi, who was kidnapped by gunmen on February 13.
In a statement signed by the command’s Police Public Relations Officer, Collins Adebayo, on Sunday, the police said Mr. Ohere was rescued from the kidnappers on Saturday after intensive hunt.
According to statement, Mr. Ohere was abducted from his Agassa home in Okene Local Government by about 10 gunmen, after scaling the fence.Mr. Ohere was rescued at about 7.30 a.m. on Saturday in Adavi by combined security agencies.
The statement said the kidnappers abandoned the official Toyota Hilux van with which they abducted Ohere, when they discovered that the security agencies were getting too close to their den. (NAN)
