Federal cabinet hold first meeting in 2015, approves N1.2bn for Abuja Sewage Facility

The Federal Executive Council, FEC, at its first meeting for 2015, approved N1.2 billion for award of the contract for the construction of sewage facilities for the Guzape District of the Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.

The project is expected to be completed within 16 months.

The Supervising Minister of Information, Nurudeen Mohammed, told journalists after the meeting that the Council approved the contract after the FCT Minister, Bala Mohammed, presented a memo seeking approval for the award of contract for the construction of sewage facilities to connect Guzape District (Lots 1 and 2) to the trunk mains (Stage I -connection of Guzape Lot 1) in the Abuja.

Guzape District is located around the fringes of Abuja and was not initially considered to be part of the Abuja City Master Plan.

Mr. Mohammed said in order to avoid abuses and uncoordinated development around the fringes of the city, the administration embarked on the land use and detailed site development plan of the city fringes to integrate them into overall city planning scheme.

“Consequently, Guzape District Lots 1 and 2 were planned and provided with facilities such as roads, water supply, storm water, drainage system and internal sewage network including mini sewage treat plants” he said.

FEC deliberated on the scope of the work, its significance and substantial compliance of the award process with the provisions of due process .

The minister said the project will provide employment opportunities for about 50 indigenous professionals, artisans, skilled and unskilled labourers. He said there is already the provision of N300 million from the FCT internally generated revenue for the commencement of the project while adequate provisions has been provided for the project in the FCT Funding Plan.

This CAN president is an embarrassment to us Christians. Katsina State is run by a PDP Governor. If it is persecution because of 2015, it is the PDP Governor of Katsina who is doing the persecution and CAN president is in PDP and has direct access to President Jonathan who is also in PDP. And the General who is alleging persecution for supporting the party in power; is PDP not the party in power in Katsina and at Federal level? If Christians are being persecuted in a PDP State, why is the CAN president rooting for PDP?
The unspoken propaganda in the statement of the CAN president and the General is that the church is persecuted because of their support for PDP. But the persecution is being done by the PDP Government!

Ayo Oritsejafor must have a big problem with memory. Your comment here has exposed you-Ayo Oritsejafor. Why? These are the reasons.
    1. Katsina state is a PDP state.
    2. You Ayo Oritsejafor, you are a PDP member.
    3. You , Ayo Oritsejafor has turned CAN into the campaign office of PDP and Goodluck Jonathan.
So? If Katsina state govt is PDP and the governor is PDP how can they be working for your opponent? This is the contradiction you have put yourself in-Ayo Oritsejafor.
But let me help you. On behalf of your candidate, you tried to define the election in terms of Muslim Vs Christian. You have seen that that failed because Nigerians have decided to define the election in terms of ETHICS and GOVERNANCE. You are therefore frustrated. Hence , you Ayo Oritsejafor , you are looking for desperate and fraudulent ways to still impute religion into the election. But this will fail and it has failed.
On the decision of the Katsina state Urban and regional Planning Board, my position is that KATSINA STATE AND ITS BOARD ARE WRONG. They should NOT have done what they are doing even if they are appealing to a law and procedure. To make that kind of appeal at this stage where everything can be twisted is INAPPROPRIATE and WRONG. So the Board is wrong and they should STOP the nonsense. But this does not exonerate Ayo Oritsejafor. Why? Because he is a busy body looking for every opportunity to muddle everything on religious ground while forgetting that he Ayo belongs to the same party as the Katsina state governor and the president-their candidate-Goodluck Jonathan. I am very happy at this because it has exposed the evil design of Ayo Oritsejafor of CAN and his bad but failed use of CAN to favor Goodluck Jonathan in this election.
