The Board of Trustees of the People’s Democratic Party, (PDP) on Wednesday night endorsed President Goodluck Jonathan as its candidate for the 2015 presidential elections.

The BoT meeting held Wednesday night ahead of the enlarged meeting of the party’s National Executive Council (NEC) slated to hold Thursday (today).

Prof Jerry Gana told journalists after the meeting that the party’s BoT had adopted President. Jonathan as the sole candidate for the party, considering his performance in office.

The governors elected on the platform of the PDP had earlier on Wednesday endorsed President Jonathan as the party’s sole flag-bearer in the 2015 election.

Rising from a four-hour meeting, held at the Akwa Ibom Governors Lodge in Abuja, the governors urged all PDP members to rally round Mr. Jonathan and ensure that he emerges the sole candidate of the party ahead of the 2015 election.

The party has fixed its presidential primaries for December 6.
