INEC advises Abuja residents to collect voter cards at area councils

The FCT Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, on Sunday advised residents yet to collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVC) to collect same at the six area councils.

Okezie Nwankwo, the Head, Voter Education and Publicity in the territory, said this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria in Abuja.

According to him, the commission is currently giving out the PVC to those who registered, while the Continuous Voter Registration, CVR, will soon follow.

“At the moment, the interest of the commission is in the distribution of the PVCs,” Mr. Nwankwo said.

“We want to ensure that the distribution is smoothly done in all area councils without much stress to eligible registered voters.’’

“We will announce the Continuous Voters Registration (CVR) in the area council offices in due course,” he said.

The CVR for people captured on INEC database is in six area councils of AMAC (Karu), Bwari, Kuje  Abaji, Kwali and Gwagwalada.
