Ex-finance minister, other PDP leaders defect to APC

Minister of state for Finance Yerima Ngama

Hours to the conduct of governorship and states House of Assembly elections, some People Democratic Party politicians in Yobe State have dumped their party for the state’s ruling All Progressives Congress.

Leading the team of the PDP defectors was the former minister of State, Finance, Yerima Ngama, who announced his defection through his political aide, Aliyu Jajare.

Mr. Ngama contested the governorship of Yobe State on the platform of the PDP but got his ambition truncated at the primary where he was defeated by Adamu Waziri, the current candidate of the PDP.

Mr. Ngama, who later settled for a Senatorial ticket, was again defeated by incumbent Senator, Ahmed Lawan of APC at the last senatorial election.

On Friday, he called on his supporters at the PDP to vote against the party.

He called on all his supporters to “come out in large numbers and ensure the APC emerges victorious in tomorrow’s polls”.

Also defecting alongside the ex-minister was a one-time senator from Yobe Zone-A, Jalo Zarami; a former commissioner in old Borno State, Lawan Lantawa.

The defectors called on the people to vote for the APC in the Saturday election.

The National Secretary of the APC, Mai Mala Buni, said the decampees had “made the right decision to join to the APC”.

Irrespective of the party they are in they will all be tried, fear not. APC can’t reject anyone that wants to join her party what they can do is to ensure they are not given any major office in the party.

U did well ngama but that will not stop BABA buhari from proufvin you soon

So, where did Lai Mohammed lie? He corectly identified the persosn Jonathan met with. What’sthe President doing with such an unsavoury group whole day, wth — Obanikoro who conspired with others to rig the last Ekiti governorship election, which Jonathan would not discuss, despirte the compelling evidence, and Dani Adams, whose army of hoodlum held Lagos under siege for a whole day, with the connivance of the police and the so-called security services.

What was Jonathan doing withthe characters, on the eve of a criciua election in Lagos.?

The amn seems incapable or rising to the high office of President; so, at every point, he cuts id town to his own pedestrian level. Was this not the same man being hailed as a “hero” of democracy whenall he did was bow to necessity?

    Hero my foot.

Whatever happend in Lagos, he is gone. And we will be spared the sight of the sheppo lumbering all over the place with her inanities.

Ashawo politicians….We do not need on party state in Nigeria…Thieves

    • MANCHA

Yes, of course, they are worse than ashawo.. They are only following the money trail. APC should be wise enough to ban defection until 2 years after election. It will be interesting to see how Buhari controls corruption, when he will be working with the same old thieves.

All these defectors are welcomed from all parties as long as they have a clean record.
They must be so scrutinised to the extent of turning them nude as to their curriculum vitae.
The indisputable condition must be the declaration of their assets. This must be made public.
Defection is not a crime, but the party concerned must maintain TRANSPARENCY in their party program.

For the sake of political hygiene, no bad egg should be welcomed in their midst. No NEPOTISM!.

I agree with the writer. He expressed the same sentiments previously expressed by the Catholic Bishop of Yola.

  • Isaac Azor

I totally agree with this writer. Sultan should respond to the issues raised in here for the general public to know his stand though it is not hidden where he belongs.
