Man Arrested With 85 PVCs in Adamawa

Security Operatives in Adamawa state have arrested one Bobby Koteri with 85 Permanent Voter Cards belonging to people of from Futodo region of Michika Local Government Area.

Parading the suspect, who is a farmer, before journalists in Yola, the Public Relations Officers of the 23rd Armoured Brigade of the Nigerian Army in Yola, Nuhu Jafaru, said the suspect was arrested along Song Gombi road during a stop-and-check search.

Responding, Mr. Koteri said he is just an errand boy.

“l was given the PVC to take to the people of my unit by the sole administrator of Garage area development area.”

“The administrator, Jimmy Zira, gave me to distribute them to the people who are living on the mountain in others Futodo unit, because they cannot come down to the city to collect their PVC.

“If you look at the cards, they belong to people that are aged,” said Mr. Koteri.

The suspect has since being handed to the police. The police PRO, Lehman Abubakar, said the police is investigating the matter.

The Public Relations Officer of INEC in Adamawa state, Rufaktu Duku, said nobody or group has the right to collect PVC for anybody.
