Gulak to contest for Adamawa governor

Ahmed Gulak has his hand in a secret pie in the British Virgin Island

Gulak says he has all it take to emerge candidate of the PDP.

Aliyu Gulak, a former Political Adviser to President Goodluck Jonathan, has joined the league of aspirants under the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, jostling for the post of governor of Adamawa State.

Mr. Gulak while addressing his campaign coordinators and PDP delegates from the 21 local government areas of the state declared his intention to join the gubernatorial race on Tuesday in Yola, the capital city.

Mr. Gulak said that the presidency and the PDP national leadership has no intention to impose any candidate on the people of Adamawa.

He said “the era of imposition is over in the PDP”, saying President Jonathan wants a popular candidate for the party.

Mr. Gulak said he has all it takes to emerge the PDP candidate in the poll.

The Director General of Gulak Campaign Organization and a former deputy governor of the state, Lynn Nathan, urged the delegates to choose a competent person and shun sentiments.

A new governorship election is to be held in Adamawa within the next three months following the impeachment of former governor Murtala Nyako and the resignation of his deputy, Bala Ngilari.
