The Federal Government has appointed Saminu Ibrahim as the new Vice Chancellor of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, ATBU, Bauchi.
Notice of the appointment is contained in a statement signed by the Public Relations Officer of the institution, Zailani Bappa, on Friday in Bauchi.
Mr. Bappa said Mr. Ibrahim, 54, replaced outgoing Vice Chancellor, Muhammed Muhammed, whose tenure would expire on April 26.
Mr. Bappa stated that Mr. Ibrahim’s appointment was announced by Yerima Abdullahi, the Pro-chancellor of the university and Chairman, Governing Council of ATBU, Bauchi.
The public relations officer said that the letter of appointment, dated April 24, was signed by the Registrar of the institution, Ali Deba.
Mr. Deba added that “Prof. Saminu Ibrahim’s appointment takes effect from April 27, a single period of five years.’’
Mr. Ibrahim, a professor, holds a Ph.D in Soil Science.
