The state was also expecting another technical aid of 100 farmers’ trucks from the same country, to boost agricultural activities.
The Bauchi State Government on Thursday said it had received a donation of 5,000 units of environment-friendly energy-saving air conditioners from the Peoples Republic of China.
This is contained in a statement signed by Alhassan Jumba, the Permanent Secretary of the state Ministry of Environment and Forestry, and made available to the News Agency of Nigeria in Bauchi.
According to the statement, the donation followed series of visits by the state government officials to China, and the establishment of cordial relationship with the country.
It said that the state was also expecting another technical aid of 100 farmers’ trucks from the same country, to boost agricultural activities.
“Gov. Isa Yuguda has graciously approved the allocation of the air conditioners to all General Hospitals, Tertiary Institutions, MDAs, Local Government Areas and Emirate Councils throughout the state, “ the statement said.
He called on the beneficiaries to use the facility judiciously, adding that youth with technical training would find useful means of livelihood from the Chinese who would be engaged in the installation of the gadgets.
