Potiskum residents will now be able to go outdoors from 6 a.m. till 10 p.m.
The Yobe State Joint Task Force, Wednesday, said it has relaxed the 24 hour curfew imposed on Potiskum Town, Yobe State.
This was made known in a statement signed by the state’s JTF spokesperson, Lazarus Eli.
He said the curfew was relaxed following the completion of the JTF’s special operations in Potiskum.
“Upon the completion of special operations in Potiskum town, the Joint Task Force (JTF) relaxes the twenty four hour curfew imposed on the town recently with effect from today Wednesday 7 August 2013,” Mr. Lazarus said.
He, however, added that an earlier curfew of 10 p.m. till 6 a.m. imposed on the state is still in force.
Mr. Lazarus appreciated the patience and cooperation exhibited by residents of Potiskum and travellers during the Ramadan period. He, on behalf of the JTF, wished Muslims a happy Eid-El-Fitr celebration.
