There has been a terrible spate of car theft in Plateau State.
The Plateau police command has cautioned members of the public, particularly car owners, to ensure that their cars are equipped with modern security gadgets.
This follows the increased rate of car theft in the state, with the police also warning residents to avoid lonely routes at odd hours.
“’Vehicles owners should avoid plying lonely routes at odd times,” the police said in a statement on Monday.
“This is to inform the members of the general public; particularly car owners ensure that their vehicles have modern security gadgets such as car-tracking devices.
“The precautionary measures taken by the police in safeguarding cars is aimed at helping Anti-car theft strategies on the Plateau,” it added.
There have been reported cases of cars snatched at gunpoint in recent times within the state. Last week, the police command in the state paraded 13 suspected experts’ car snatchers who allegedly snatched 11 cars in one week from victims.
