The people were urged to be security conscious.
The Mubi Emirate Council in Adamawa on Tuesday commenced public enlightenment over the state of emergency proclaimed in the state.
Addressing a gathering of youth at Gulak as part of the enlightenment tour, the Sarkin Matasa (Youth Leader) of the emirate, Ahmadu Mana, urged the people to be security conscious and give maximum support to security operatives.
Mr. Mana, who is leading the enlightenment campaign, cautioned the youth against drug abuse and idleness. He asked them to live as responsible citizens, and useful to their respective families and the society.
“You must shun idleness, drug abuse and other social vices. You need to avail yourself of the various poverty alleviation programmes introduced by government. There is the farming skills training programme, there is technical training programme; we also have the local apprenticeship scheme programme, among others, for you to exploit,” Mr. Mana said.
Also speaking at the occasion, the acting District Head of Gulak, Sa’idu Ahmadu, commended the youth for their conduct under the state of emergency and urged them to sustain the tempo.
Mr. Ahmadu tasked the youth to be patriotic and contribute positively to national development.
