Adamawa has the longest land border in Nigeria.
Following the State of Emergency in Adamawa, the state government is to enlighten border communities on the closure of the state’s border with Cameroon.
Ahmad Sajoh, the Director Press Affairs to Governor Murtala Nyako made this known on Friday in Yola.
Mr. Sajoh said the enlightenment became necessary after the governor held an emergency security meeting on Friday, adding that the border communities would be cautioned on movement across the border..
He said the state government was doing everything possible to ensure maximum support for security agencies as directed by President Goodluck Jonathan.
“You know Adamawa has the longest land border in Nigeria covering nine local government areas,” Mr. Sajoh said.
Also speaking, the Commissioner for Border Integration and Development, Hamza Bello, said his ministry would ensure adequate mobilisation of the border communities to comply fully with the state of emergency.
Mr. Bello said officials of the ministry had before the emergency toured the border communities and identified their major problems for necessary actions.
Meanwhile, things have continued to remain normal across the state in spite of the dusk-to-dawn curfew.
Most Friday sermons in the state had stressed the need for proper conduct, support and cooperation for security agencies during the emergency period.
