Residents from the affected communities are relocating to neighboring Kaduna State for safety due to the recent spate of violence.
A second policeman has been found to be part of the 28 reportedly killed on Tuesday in two communities of Da-Jak and Attakar , Ganawuri District in Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The Commissioner of Police in the State, Chris Olapke, had earlier confirmed the death of a police corporal, Maniru Jibril, in the attack.
However, speaking with journalists, a member of the House of Representatives representing the area, Daniel Dem, said the second police officer hails from Kanam Local Government Area of the State.
Mr. Dem said residents of the affected communities were relocating to neighboring Kaduna State for safety due to the recent spate of violence in that area.
Similarly, a spokesperson from the Special Task-Force, STF, Jude Akpah, who is standing in for the media officer of the STF, Salisu Mustapha, said two policemen were killed in the incident.
He, however, declined comments on the number of civilians killed in the attack.
Meanwhile, security forces in large numbers have been re-deployed to the troubled zone. At the time of this report, a police helicopter was flying over the area.
