The Water Resources Minister, Sarah Ochekpe, said on Wednesday that the Federal Government had spent N5 billion on Mangu dam project.

The minister said this while speaking at the official flag-off of PDP campaign for the 2015 elections at Mangu, Mangu Local Government Area.

The rally was attended by Senate President, David Mark and Governors of Niger and Benue, Mu’azu Babangida and Gabriel Suswam.

Ms. Ochekpe said the Dam had been dormant for more than 10 years before the money was earmarked for its completion.

“This government had sunk over N5 billion for the completion of the Dam to give the people of Mangu good drinking water,” she said.

She said the dam would be of immense importance to the people of the locality, especially in the areas of farming, fishing and drinking.

“President Goodluck Jonathan deserves your total support and votes for him to continue with his good work,” Ms. Ochekpe said.

She said the government had proven itself in terms of development and called on people of the state to wisely cast their votes in the forthcoming elections.

Madam Minister, how much has been spent is not the issue. We know how much was spent on the Airports, Port Harcourt “International” Airport still has no arrival hall, departure check-in is still shared desks, MMIA Lagos arrival hall still a steam bath sauna. We know how much is spent on kerosene subsidy, it is still sold at N120/litre whereever you are lucky to find it. We know how much of foreign reserve was spent is “saving” the Naira, it is still on a downward spiral, N180, N185, N190…. Madam Minister the question is; Has the the dam been completed? Or you don’t give a damn?

Warning Signs Buhari Would Destroy Nigeria’s Economy Which Were Ignored (READ)

But now, naira is on free fall, falling oil prices, inability to sell oil, Biafra agitation, Boko Haram moves, governors’ inability to pay salaries.

We told them that he’s corrupt just like his fellow cronies, but they claimed he never stole a dime.

We told them that Buhari is OLD, DULL, and SLOW, but they said they preferred a dullàrd that created Western Germany and President Mitchell’s to a Ph.D. holder that transformed the Agricultural sector of the economy.

We told them he doesn’t have the moral standard, will and the technological knowhow to tackle corruption, but they claimed even witch hunting is fighting corruption.

We told them he’s full of LIES and DECEIT, but they hoped on the mirage NGN5,000 salary for the jobless and one meal per day for their kids.

We told them that since he knew nothing about fuel subsidy, then he knows nothing about the petroleum industry/sector of the Nigerian economy but they claimed he’ll stabilize world oil price and reduce PMS price to NGN40 per litre.

We told them he has no respect for the rule of law, but they claimed the judiciary was corrupt.
