2015: Nasarawa PDP to disqualify aspirants over misconduct

Nasarawa State

The Nasarawa State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has said the party would disqualify any aspirant whose supporters engaged in misconduct.

This was disclosed by the state chairman of the party, Yunana Iliya, after a consultative meeting with eight of the party’s governorship aspirants at its secretariat along Jos Road, Lafia.

Mr. Iliya said the party would not hesitate to deal with any aspirant that caused conflict in the forthcoming 2015 elections.

He explained that the eight aspirants agreed to choose a consensus candidate among them that would be the only one to purchase the form for the 2015 governorship elections.

Those in attendance at the meeting were the state deputy governor, Damishi Barau, Mike Abdul, Yusuf Agabi, John Danboyi, Jibrin Yakubu, Solomon Ewuga, Chris Mamman and Musa Husseini.

The party chairman said, however, 13 aspirants indicated interest to contest for the governorship.

“Our party has a culture of discipline and work to ensure that culture is entrenched,” he said.

Meanwhile, a former governor of the state, Aliyu Doma and Labaran Maku, another aspirant, were absent.
