Zamfara community seek government’s assistance after destruction of homes by rainfall

Over 100 houses were destroyed by rain in Janyau Fulani.

The residents of Janyau Fulani area in Gusau Metropolis of Zamfara have appealed to the government for assistance following the destruction of their houses by rainstorm on Tuesday.

The Village Head, Abubakar Muhammad, made the appeal on behalf of the people on Thursday during an interview with News Agency of Nigeria in Gusau.

Mr. Muhammad said that the rainstorm destroyed more than 100 houses and that their owners were currently taking refuge in the homes of neighbours.

He said eight children were injured during the storm and were currently being treated in various hospitals.

”We want government to come and assist us because most of the victims now worry about feeding themselves and how they can return to their homes,” he said.

He also appealed to well meaning individuals to assist the victims so that they could resume normal life.
