The people of Edoji Community of Uruagu Nnewi in Nnewi North Local Government Area of Anambra State have raised alarm over the erosion that is now ravaging the area due to poor construction work of the Consolidated Construction Company, CCC.
The community residents said the road leading to St. John’s Anglican Church is now in a very bad state as a result of what they say is the “unending drainage construction by the CCC”.
According to the residents, all the water from the neighbouring communities of Umumejiaku, Akaboedoji and some part of Nnewichi are being directed to Edoji and there is no road to St. John’s Anglican Church from the street where Nnewi Girls Secondary School is situated, populary known as Anglican.
A visit to the community confirmed the incident as residents fear it might cause Edoji community to witness even more disastrous erosion.
The residents appealed to the Anambra State Government to call the construction company to order.
