The accused were denied bail as the victim was yet to be found.
Three men, Isha Salami (35), Sunday Musa (50) and Ariyo Wale (35) on Wednesday appeared before an Ado-Ekiti Magistrates’ Court for allegedly kidnapping a three-year-old girl.
The police prosecutor, Bamikole Olasunkanmi, told the court that the accused committed the offence on April 9 at Ilokun Village, Ado-Ekiti.
He said they conspired to commit felony, thereby contravening a law of the state, but the accused pleaded not guilty.
The defence counsel urged the court to grant them bail, but the prosecutor objected, saying the kidnapped child was yet to be found and might jeopardise police investigation if bail was granted.
Chief Magistrate Simeon Ojo ordered the accused to be remanded in police custody till April 17 for the continuation of the case.
