It’s time for serious business as 18 contestants battle for a slot in the MTN Project Fame 8.0 academy at the Opening Gala show coming up this Saturday, August 1, 2015 in Lagos, Nigeria.
A lot has happened since the aspiring contestants emerged from the auditions in Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt, Ibadan and Ghana. The opening gala thus promises to be a fitting climax before the contestants make their way into the academy.

Now it is make or mar time for the shortlisted 18 contestants who will perform before a teeming live studio audience and judges, who have to pick the very best of the contestants. The lucky qualifiers from the opening will make their way into the famous MTN Project Fame Academy to vie for an opportunity to become this year’s winner of the competition.
The overall winner of the competition will walk away with a grand prize of N5m, a brand new SUV and a recording deal worth millions of Naira. The 1st runner up will get a saloon car and N3m. The 2nd runner up will be awarded a brand new saloon car along with N1m while the 3rd runner up will receive a cash prize of N1m.
The MTN Project Fame has contributed immensely to the Nigerian music industry with the likes of Iyanya, Praiz, Chidinma amongst others that are success stories of the platform. They are currently making waves in the industry.
