Edo Polls: Police service commission to monitor police conduct

The Police Service Commission will be monitoring police conduct during the July 14 governorship election in Edo State.

Ferdinard Ukpe, the commission’s spokesperson in a statement said the commission will “support and uphold democratic principles”, especially the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and other stakeholders, to deliver to Nigerians free, fair and credible elections.

In the statement which was made available to Premium Times, Mr. Ukpe stated the Monitoring Team will be led by Otive Igbuzor, the Commissioner in charge of strategy.

The Police Service Commission urged all stakeholders in the Edo State elections to play according to the rules as this would help the Police in carrying out their lawful duties effectively.
