Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, has praised the leadership style of the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Bamanga Tukur, on the occasion of his first 100 days in office.
In a statement issued by his media office in Abuja, the former Vice President said that Mr. Tukur has upheld the reconciliation policy, aimed at rebuilding the party, which was once torn apart by division and acrimony.
“The passion and sincerity with which Bamanga Tukur is trying to introduce a system in the way the party is run, is a reflection of his determination to put his wealth of experience at the disposal of the party,” Mr. Abubakar said.
According to Mr. Abubakar, the PDP chairman is modelling the party after democratic parties like the Africa National Congress in South Africa where loyalty to the party subsumes allegiance to individuals and groups. The former Vice President also held that Mr. Tukur’s style of leadership is revolutionary.
