EPL: Arsenal shock City at Etihad as Aluko suffers defeat

Arsenal, Sunday evening, ended Manchester City’s 15-match unbeaten run as they romped to a 0-2 win at the Etihad stadium.

A goal from Santi Carzola in the first half from the penalty spot and another from French striker, Oliver Giroud, in the second half saw Arsenal cruise to a big away win which has positively affected their position on the EPL table.

After a flurry of missed chances by the two teams, Arsenal found themselves in front when Cazorla’s well-taken spot kick in the 24th minute could not be stopped by goalkeeper Joe Hart.
It was returning City skipper, Vincent Kompany, who body-checked Nacho Monreal to gift the glorious chance.

From then on, Arsenal held firm to the lead and later found an all-important second with a little over 20 minutes left to play when Giroud, played onside by Frank Lampard, guided Cazorla’s dinked free kick beyond Joe Hart.

The result has seen Arsenal leapfrog Tottenham Hotspurs, and move into fifth place while City stay second, five points adrift of table toppers Chelsea.

In the earlier game on Sunday, it was all gloom for Nigeria’s Sone Aluko who despite his hard work could not help Hull City from crashing to a 3-0 defeat in the hands of West Ham United at the Upton Park.

The defeat means Aluko and his teammates stay rooted in the relegation zone in 18th place with a paltry 19 points from 22 games.

Inasmuch as we all know that Tinubu played a major role in the victory of the APC ( it would be uncharitable to claim otherwise ) , it is also true that other persons too contributed, in their own way to said victory.
A few examples here will suffice:
1.George Akume: From 1999 up till 28th of March 2015, Benue state was a stauchly pdp state. The pdp had the governorship and most of the positions, with the exception of one senatorial seat , and a few House of reps, and Assembly seats , and always won the Presidential election handily, yet in 2015, there was a complete change, as APC won the governorship , and presidency, along with two senatorial out of three seats and majority of the house of reps and house of assembly seats.
This feat can be attributed, almost single-handedly to the efforts of George Akume , yet he has not been carrying himself as the be-all and end-all of the party.
2.Bukola Saraki : Saraki is the George Akume of Kwara state, on steroids , since he made it a clean sweep for APC.
3.Adams Oshiomole: In spite of the fact that Edo is in the South-South , badluck jonadaft’s stronghold, PMB was able to get close to half of the votes ( for the first time in history.
4.Murtala Nyako: PMB won the election in Adamawa, for the first time after 3 earlier attempts , and APC made a clean sweep, while Nyako’s son was elected as a senator.
5.Rochas Okorocha : PMB was able to get around 150,000 votes in an igbo state, for the first in history.
There are many others who played major roles , e.g. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso , Aliyu Wamakko , Adamu Aliero , the late Prince Abubakar Audu , Ibikunle Amosun , Abiola Ajimobi ,etc, etc.
Why then is it that it is Tinubu who has seemingly arrogated to himself the role of the alpha and omega of the APC ?
While I believe that the South West should have been left to Tinubu as a reward for his invaluable contributions ( a case in point in the governorship candidate of Ondo state ), I however am of the firm opinion that Tinubu overreached himself by his earlier conduct :
In the first place , what gave him the right to want to impose the leadership of the national assembly , when his fiefdom, the South West , has less than 13 APC senators , out of 60, and a a proportionate share of the members of the house of reps? It has been alleged that he was merely playing PMB’s script , which begs the question : “why then is Tinubu taking it so personal “?
The second issue is that Tinubu caused his portrait to be erected at the APC headquarters , along with those of PMB and the VP , Professor Osinbajo. This was an unwise move as it would rub other party stalwarts the wrong way , by insinuating that they are mere passengers in APC.
The third issue has to do with the issue of the governorship of Kogi state , where Tinubu goaded his vassal , James Faleke , to upset the apple cart , after Abubakar Audu passed away before the election was concluded. Cotary to what Dahiru Majeed asserts ,Faleke had no legal leg to stand on ) .In the first place , the Constitution is clear as to when a running mate can replace a deceased candidate. Faleke never had any intention of contesting the governorship election , and did not take part in the primaries. How then could he have been chosen as the candidate ? Tinubu did not allow that fact to stand in his way , but pushed Faleke into commiting political suicide, just because Bello , who came second in the primaries, was chosen as the candidate (incidentally , Bello was PMB’s candidate fom the very beginning )
Tinubu has to realise that national politics is not like Lagos politics , where he calls the shots and determines who gets anything ( including councillorship positions ).
Tinubu has to bear the following saying in mind : ” when the music changes , a wise dancer has to change his dance steps”.
There are just too many big personalies with big egos at the national level , and Tinubu has to realise that he can not get his way all the time. There has to be a lot of give-and-take , which apparently, Tinubu is not used to , since he is the all-knowing God of Lagos.
Tinubu may be making a big mistake if he thinks that the South West will blindly follow him to another party. The South West voted against jonadaft not only because he was a disaster and a criminal , but also because he did not give the SW a fair share of patronage, inspite of the fact that the SW overwhelmingly voted for him in 2011.
On what basis then will Tinubu tell the SW to abandon the APC, when the SW has the following positions ? :
    1.Vice-President ( number two position )
    2. Deputy Speaker ( number six position )
    3.Minister of Power
    4.Minister of Works
    5.Minister of Finance
    6.Minister of Health
    7.Minister of Communication
    8. Chief of Defence Staff
    9.Chairman of FIRS
    10.Chairman of NPA
    11. Post Master-General
There are also several special advisers, senior special assistants ,executive directors of NPA , NIMASA , and so many other posts.e.g. headship of government agencies like N.I.P.C ( Yewande Sadiku ) , etc, etc.
Tinubu needs to keep his head down and work in harmony with PMB , who being an unassuming person himself , would be more inclined to working with like-minded persons.
On the part of the APC , Tinubu deserves to be the go-to man as far as the South West is concerned. Any other way may be a recipe for disaster.

Both Buhari and jagbajanshit are naturally born criminals.

    • Authority

Go and sit down somewhere with this your rubbish post and analysis. Are you from SW? Even if you are from SW are you living in Nigeria to determine who SW should vote for come 2019 general election. Buhari and his machinery will surely pay for their act of treachery come 2019. Go and write it down today…Buhari will not win next election even from the north he came from he will not win the whole north. Some northern elites and influence already tired of his nepotism way and negligence of the rule of law. If care is not taking, it’s possible Buhari and his cronies can still go to jail after their tenure no matter how long it take.

You are the son of a thousand fathers, all of them bastards like you. You have succeeded in saying nothing , with the rubbish that you wrote.

What exactly do you take exception to in my post?

Why do factory-fitted morons like you always resort to ad hominem attacks , without countering the arguments raised.?

Do you get your kicks from that?

If you had any sense , you would have controverted the arguments that I raised , instead of insulting me. Why am I not surprised ? That kind of uncouthness is par for the course for biafrans , who always resort to insults , just to cover the fact that they are barely-literate; I have never experienced it from a Yoruba before, and I sincerely doubt if you are Yoruba as you claim.

Be that as it may , why should you conflate one man , Tinubu , to the Yoruba nation ? In what way are the two intertwined ?

In what way have the Yoruba lost out under PMB’s administration ? Will you be happy only if PMB hands over his government to Tinubu , like Rashid Ladoja and Lamidi Adedibu , Chris Ngige and Chris Ubah , Mbadinuju and Emeka Offor , Ambode and Tinubu , Aregbesola and Tinubu , Fashola and Tinubu , etc , etc ?

You are just a mumu and follow-follow , and lickspittle of Tinubu.

Why didn’t you advise your god Tinubu, to hand over his government to Abraham Adesanya , Ganiyu Dawodu , Onasanya , and the other Afenifere members, who put Tinubu in office?

Why didn’t you ask your god Tinubu , not to turn against these elderly gentlemen I mentioned above , and not to form his own party?

Why did your god Tinubu get rid of his deputy , Kofo Bucknor-Akerele , who was chosen for him by Afenifere ?

I hope you know that Tinubu would never have won the election in 1999, if he did not have the support of the elderly gentlemen I mentioned above , who were the leading lights of Afenifere ?

If as you alleged PMB betrayed Tinubu , then PMB had a good teacher in Tinubu.

I have blocked hundreds of your brain-dead and incorrigibly uncouth co-travellers on Disqus because it is cruel and unusual punishment to have to read their asinine posts.

I have already wasted enough time with a miserable waste of oxygen like you.

Dont ever communicate with me again as I shall ignore you like the imbecile that you are.

        Bye bye for ever.

Orang utang like you. Go and eat your banana.

        Get thee behind me satan.

Go and collect your peanuts from the owner of Lagos , at Bourdillon.

PS : You are now blocked. Enjoy.

For over 48 hours now, I have been unsuccessfully trying to
respond to this post. Each time I make my post, my post undergoes an interminably
long “moderation”, process, before it then disappears from the website. I can
only hope that someone somewhere is not playing the censor’s game? If we are
man enough to write, or publish what others write; should we not be equally man
enough to hear other people’s opinion of what we write or publish?
