Congratulations Aregbe, APC and the good people of the State of Osun who voted their conscience! The evil machinations of the Ebola Jonathan and his PDPigs finally came to nought!. Salute to the courage and fearlessness of the people.

  • Mani_Kay

BIG CONGRATULATIONS TO PRESIDENT GOODLUCK JONATHAN FOR BRINGING FREE AND FAIR ELECTIONS TO NIGERIA !!!

The people have spoken ……….. congratulations APC/Rauf Aregbesola !!!

Big congratulations to President Goodluck Jonathan for bringing free and fair elections to Nigeria !!!

Think about it …….. free and fair elections had eluded Nigeria since independence until President Goodluck Jonathan came !

    • Naijagogoodagain

Your attempt at magnanimity stinks. GEJ will not recognise free and fair election even if it stands on his head! The PDP, presidency and military( Police) just fail to repeat and recreate the same devilish winning formula as they did in Ekiti. So don’t insult people with your half baked delusional pat on the back of Ogogoro GEJ.

    • Ahmad

Hold your fake and dubious congratulations to yourself. We will use the same broom to sweep both Ebele and Ebola out of our sight. Shameless people.

      • Efe1

Kai dia is God ooo! Ebele and Ebola! You don summarise the 2015 mission kpatakpata. Ebele and Ebola must go!

      • Wähala

        Hahahaa chai!
Ebolami Ebele Dumbo is gone… down into the soakaway in 2015, wallahi!

    • TRUTH MASTER

President Jonathan cannot claim credit and does not deserve one for the success of the Osun election.

He deployed troops to harass and intimidate the opposition, not to secure the vote. On election day, opposition leaders were arrested in droves, whereas not one single PDP leader was arrested.

But in the end, the people of Osun – who defeated him in the last election – showed him the limitation of brute force

Credit for Osun election goes to one and only one: The People of Osun!!!

      • Ahmad

You have said the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. Osun ni baje oo!

      • Wähala

The backbreaker was their attempt to divert 500,000 voting material that was thwarted by vigilant Osun people. The clowns lost big time: their cash, bags of expired rice, jerry cans of kerosene… and the main event. Can’t wait for the next salvo from Lai Mohammed, the victim of Ebolami Jona’s ill-advised antics. Congrats to Osun for their resilience in the face of brute force… O se Baba, indeed!

        • Efe1

Next port of call is Adamawa state now. Let’s go over there and teach the adamawans how the Osun people stopped PDPigs on the track. Now let’s wait for Ebola Jonathan excuse.

    • Efe1

Lol you are so shameless it is worse than Ebola. I will say you should ask for Ebola instead of what you have now. Errant nonsense. Rigging was made impossible GEJ did not aim for the result APC secured.

    • Wähala

      Deri Olosi…
Today, you’re wearing your fake beret ba? Congratulating the wrong guy again abi?? shameless clown. Thought you said via Fani Oloja, that you’re winning Osun handsdown? Olosi. Ebolami Jonathan has been thoroughly put to shame by the resolute people of Osun. They collected his expired bags of rice ati kerosene, then voted their conscience. Once bitten, triple shy… no Ekiti magic in Ile Ife. You can’t murder a man and turn around and plant an orange tree on his grave… it will never bear fruit! Deep lesson, costly lesson for PDP and Omisore to take back to Abuja to Ebola Jona et al. Today, your lies have come to naught. Baztards !!!

    • Shehu

WE DON’T EXPECT ANY POSITIVE CHANGE FROM THIS DUMBO WHO IS A PRODUCT OF RIGGED ELECTION

    • Babs

WE DON’T EXPECT ANY POSITIVE CHANGE FROM YOUR DUMBO WHO IS A PRODUCT OF RIGGED ELECTION.

  • Reminisce6

A crushing defeat to the exponent of religion blackmail, their consistent slander and distortion of reality has had little or no influence on the everyday people of the state.Their hope and effort to infuse religion poison into the politics of the Yoruba race has been crushed and rejected, their campaign of brainwash and calumny in collaboration with the people of the other race who has no history of affinity with the people of other faith and see the world only from the prism of their myopic ignorance view. The Yorubas has been and will continue to be the only heterogeneous race in this part of the world. We live and breath tolerance, its part of our culture and core value.Congratulation to the people of Osun state for staying true to the values and warding off the proponent of alien values.

    • HassanAbdullahi

though I am I Hausa/Fulani bt I like yorubas morethan any other tribe in Nigeria

      • Efe1

I love Nigerians! We just need to stop listening to the divisive massage of politicians.

        • HassanAbdullahi

Yeah you are absolutely right !

        • Wähala

…diverse message tinged with religious frivolities by Ebolami Jona Dumbo! Before the drunk, Nigerians were getting along nice albeit, with our little differences. Then came regional cum religious Presidency of the Aborigines. Drunkards!

    • Domingoes

      @ Reminisce6:

Ah, ah, don’t turn logic on its head here and don’t be funny. Now, who injected Islamic religion into politics in Yorubaland? It is Alhaji Bola Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress [APC] who introduced Islam into Yoruba politics as an un-constitutional condition for public office and government benefits. Those who say no are the very enlightened people in Yorubaland. Those who play along are the fools courting death. For in no country in world history where Islam was injected into politics did communal peace survive or endure. History will vindicate the valiant men and women who took sensible precaution to stop APC’s budding and insidious Islamism before it is too late.

      • Pastor Jones

The Islamic Emirates of the Yoruba. The clouds are gathering.

        • Roland (Journalist)

Nigeria pretends to democracy. The majority voters in Oshun state have made their decision. They must be left alone to live with it. Across Nigeria’s borders the evidence that should have paused Oshun voters to rethink were all along glaring. The Central African Republic on Nigeria’s border, is bleeding and in shambles, and now under the custody of France’s army, as a result of violent Islamism in Bangui.

Far out on Nigeria’s western border, Mali is nearly partitioned, again as a result of Islamists who’ve cut off the country’s northern regions from the government in Bamako. Only yesterday, and again far out on Nigeria’s northern border, Egypt dealt a deadly blow on Islamists by banning the Muslim Brotherhood’s political party forever. But since the majority voters in Oshun state ignore these current lessons of history and choose to swim against the tide the better they be left to stew in their juices.

        • Easy

…AND THE CHRISTIAN CRUSADERS OF ASO ROCK VILLA? IT HAS BEEN RAINING. WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?

      • Reminisce6

There they go again, irredeemable slanderers. For eight years in this region governors of every states except Lagos were Christians,in the true Yoruba spirit nobody thought about it because it was just normal. If i may ask how much religious zeal does Tinubu have that could propel him to initiate any religious agenda? The reality is Yoruba value of tolerance is alien to most of you that you initially marvel at it then you try to destroy it through the ethno/religious agenda of GEJ and by prodding your proxies who are desperate for power at whatever cost and their gullible followers who could not fathom what was at stake.Only one other of Aregbesola`s four siblings is said to be Muslim, others are Christians and one of whom was reportedly married to a RCCG pastor who has since be deceased and whose children has been living with the Gov. and he made sure his niece/nephew follows the religious path of their father.I doubt if anyone of you can do that with the ‘soul winning’ mentality.Tinubu was Gov.for eight years and no one ever accused him of religious bias either in appointment or policy implementation. On the road to 2015 GEJ,PDP and their ethno/religious foot soldiers are bent on destroying every perceived obstacles hence the campaign of calumny against opposition principals. The ‘miracle’ of Ekiti took people by surprised but they are well prepared for Osun.Kudos to APC for standing guard and unveiling the ‘hocus-pocus” and the abracadabra that could have generate another magic in Osun.Majority of the people in Osun rejected your concoction of malicious slander and religious bigotry, they roundly said ‘take it back to the creek,we`re a people of live and let live’.

      • Roland (Journalist)

I see your drift but you don’t quite grasp the issue that Domingoes raised below. Islamism is not simply the confessional faith of a particular state Governor but the deliberate injection of that personal religious faith as public policy and public law of the state. That is why Islamism is the greatest threat to peace in Nigeria.

Islamism does not warrant tolerance. Islamism is evil. All Muslim and Arab countries, without exception, prohibit Islamism. Saudi Arabia prohibits Islamic Brotherhood Islamist Party by law. Egypt followed suit yesterday by forever banning the Freedom and Justice Party of the Islamists. The people of Oshun state are surely no better Muslims than the Saudis and Egyptians who together represent the cradle of Islam.

    • larry

Congrats to the Gov re-elect Arebge!, HIP HIP HIP HURRYYYYYY!!!!!! This is good for democracy and thanks to GEJ for respecting the wishes of the Osun people. However ,if this was OBJ the rest would have been history..,.

  • Lanre

Congratulations and felicitations to the good people of Osun State. Osun is gradually becoming the beacon for the Independence of Yorubaland from the evil machinations of those who have dragged Nigeria into the mud.

    • Shehu Monguno

Beacon of hope? what hope? like my state Borno, what does Osun State contribute to the national cake? Nothing, Borno and Osun both parasite. Borno and Osun will become beacons of hope when they contribute to the National cake instead of receiving hand outs from Abuja

      • Naijagogoodagain

Redeem and Mani_kay you guys will soon run out of names to use!

        • Shehu

          THANKS FOR EXPOSING THESE BIGOTS.

      • Efe1

Must every state contribute natural resource for it not to be a parasite? I can be sure there ar farms in borno, borno your state in the largest producer of meat in the country, you have millet, and other cash crop. It is the mis-step in policy that now make you think that is is only crude oil that matters. Rethink your stand. I personally think you are not from borno you should have known the information I just gave.

        • Shehu Monguno

Efe, natural resources? did anyone talk about natural resources? Maybe you need to read my post again

          • Efe1

So please educate me in your assertion when you described your state and Osun as parasite, what made them a parasite? Or are we about to start splitting hair here?

          • Shehu Monguno

Osun State generates N600million (US$3.8million) monthly. Her monthly wage bill is N1.6billion meaning that Osun State cannot even afford to pay salaries salaries.
How does Osun survive, on the N3.3billion oil revenue allocated monthly
allocation from Abuja. What other definition is there of a parasite?

          • Efe1

Parasite to who if I may ask! When you say somebody is a parasite, it must have a host. So please explain to who is Osun state a parasite. If we operate true federalism, everybody will have to wake up to their responsibilities. The FG is the true parasite here, they own nothing that generate income yet they have the lion share of the cake.

          • Shehu Monguno

    EPITAPH FOR THE MOB

“Those who unleashed Boko Haram on the nation [Nigeria] are not
poverty stricken. They are politicians …. desperate for power, intelligent
enough or perceptive enough to recognise that the cocktail of politics and
religious fundamentalism can only yield them dividends. They think they have
nothing to lose. But the foot soldiers have been indoctrinated for years, from
childhood. And they believe that their religion [Islam] is in danger … But
Islam is not in danger. It is the pervert followers who are being used and who
use others and proclaim that they are fighting for Islam. Look at the histories
of the world: Boko Haram, if not contained and eradicated, will be found in the
heart of Lagos (Nigeria) before you know it.”

    ….Professor Wole Soyinka
    [July 12th, 2014]

Congratulations to APC! I have said this and I will say it again, if a credible, free and fair, transparency, 1 man 1 vote
election is being practiced in this country, PDP will not be able to win up to 5 states in this country. This is because everyone knows that they are never there for the people but share money only because of God father-ism.

  • Alapatira (University of Ife)

I concede that this election result means Alhaji Raufu Aregbesola now has the
full mandate of the Yoruba to declare an Islamic State of Oshun. The
Hijab may now be legalized as the compulsory apparel in Baptist High School
and in all other schools and work-places. An Islamic calendar year – already introduced in
Oshun state – may now be declared as superseding the Gregorian
January-December calendar in Oshun state. All other Islamist consequences may then follow.

Yoruba’s call christians awon oni gbabo. The people of faith. Other ethnic groups do not understand this. It means these people (christians) walk about with faith, but we (idol worshippers) see our Gods made of wood or stone. For the Yorubas it is the character or the content of a man they want to know, not is label. So all attempts to cause confusion or instigate muslims against christians or vice versa, will fall flat. All people of various religious faith live side by side, at peace with amongst themselves.

    WHAT NEXT, ‘GRIDLOCK’ JONATHAN?

August 9th is the day Jonathan presidency
imploded and ended badly. For without thinking, Goodluck Jonathan has naively
handed back the momentum to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the last
mid-season poll before the 2015 general election. Jonathan will now be looking
for 25% of the votes in each state in Yorubaland, which is not even now
guaranteed unless he rigs or instigates impeachment – neither of which is a
better option than to simply win Oshun state freely and fairly.

For failing to lead his party (PDP) to easy victory in the
easiest election ever in Yorubaland, Mr. Jonathan now cuts the image of a
political retard. For after snatching defeat from the jaws of victory Jonathan
acquired an odour for crass incompetence.

He can take a look at himself in the mirror today and ask
how this creature messed up everything requiring thinking. From a shoo-in Jonathan
has become the lame duck. As usual, of course, he will look for strings of silly
excuses to tender – like a boy who grew up into a man used to blaming his tools.
The Yoruba voters on their part are now buoyed up with good reasons to vote
against Mr. Jonathan, en masse, next year. He is now seen as inapt and
politically daft to be the leader of a party and a country.

Surely you must be suffering from brain fever before writing this rubbish. Jonathan has always promised to conduct free and fair elections, and this is what he has just done. The man deserved kudos, and not the idiotic rantings from empty-headed fools like you.

      • Wähala

Kudos for trying to steal 500,000 election material, ba?
You’re the empty-headed clown here, vamoose and go worry about your akpethesi… drunkard!

        • ismail umar

If PDP wanted to steal 500,000 election materials, they will steal it, who pays the security forces ?

    • redeem

u would have been the first to shout blue murder if PDP had won the elections in Osun–u would have gone to sharia reporters with yr usual fake tears-ati analysis————-to allege that elections were rigged—look at the issue of impeachment–u have been hiring writers on sharia reporters to cry all over the place——————–jonathan wants to impeach every APC governor–now u have moved from there with these yr little victory to make all sorts of allegations-against the president———–that is Nigeria for u—–they and cry beg as soon as the tears are dried up—u see them————–abuse u—————-for not sacking them

      • odiate obong

        these people are just impossible

    • odiate obong

you people can never be satisfied.after laying countless claims and allegations on pdp from attempting to rig to militarisation.they lost APC won so mow all you accused the PDP of was in favour of the APC.but you still cannot let go.you still have to insult the PDP for loosing and unlike APC conceding to their loss

    • ismail umar

Its a shame that you took out time to produce this well concocted balderdash.

  • Mosaku 147

I am very happy for Rauf. That he was able to defeat the evil forces as led obanikoro is not easy.shame shame shame to FFK,JELILI,UBAH,Ooni and Omisore who never believed he could win himself.
I urge APC to go to court and challenge the total figure of the PDP for posterity sake. I say this because people on ground in osun state have said Omisore was roundly beaten.he did not score up to 100,000 votes.the Ooni too should be arrested for allowing his palace to be used for rigging the ife votes.

    • ismail umar

So you were not on ground and you are certain the Ooni of Ife’s palace was used to rig ?

  • David Olasehinde

    Dear Editor:

Please can i ask a question? This is the second time in a row that Yoruba people are voting against Ph.D holders. This
is the second time in a row that Yoruba people are voting for fridge repairers and polytechnic artisans as governors. Is it that the Yoruba now fully believe the Boko Haram philosophy that ‘education is sinful’? Should that be the case i think it is a matter of weeks before Boko Haram will consider visiting Yorubaland as a safe place of fellow believers in the same faith.

    • Easy

We have seen what the so-called Ph.d holders offer to the citizens. Clueless and incompetent leadership courtesy of Dr. Dumbo Shoeless ogogoro clown.

      • ismail umar

Just hope the people do not regret it. Development in states is not all about putting who you like, its all about putting someone that knows what he is doing. i don’t see how an educated elite is rejected by his people for a street man……wells, i respect the decision of the people either ways.

        • Easy

“a street man” – ismail umar. Please can you explain what you mean by this phrase? can you also explain who an educated elite is?

          • ismail umar

@Easy. Firstly saying ‘street man’ was not in a disrespectful context.
I spoke with a few friends from Osun and they said Rauf is a street man that’s why he would win the elections but from where i am i felt personally that a guy who has an MSC and is aspiring to be a governor would easily attract more votes because of his intellectual capacity but then my mate told me that Rauf was a typical street man so he would win, I found it hard to comprehend so i accepted it as i saw it.

Big Congratulation to All Nigerian for seen True Democracy working in State of Osun,It is not an easy task but God is at work.We should live above Religious or Tribal but think of good Governance which is development .I mean Good road, Prompt Electricity Good and timely water supply, Standard Eduction, Quality and Good health service and Employment opportunities
when all these were provided we can then measure Good Governance. For the last 15years can anybody give PDP 25% not to talk of 50% .They were less concerned about all the above mention but for them to encourage corruption impunity among others. In 2011 Jonathan did not militarized any where before we gave him sympathy vote .PDP did not distribute rice ,Kerosine or given electorate #5,000 or #10,000 .but now the fact is there what they want is to behave like God instead of living good legacy behind. Well Nigerian should think twice and reject PDP now before is too late.Once Again i congratulate All and Sundry of State of Osun for their total victory and Libation I also Congratulate Chairman APC IN THE STATE OF OSUN AND GUVNOR RE- ELECT OGBENI. MAY GOD GUIDE AND PROTECT YOU ,AMEN

  • Gerald Okoduwa

As the election was going on yesterday, the remaining residents of Gwoza in Borno State
matched through the streets of Maiduguri crying to the government for security
protection as Boko Haram hoodlums had killed about 80% of their people
including their Emir whose whereabouts is unknown. More than 200 school girls
have been in captivity for four months by these same insurgents without any
meaningful efforts to rescue them. Yet the Federal Government has 75,000
troops, some disguised in masks, to deploy to Osun State for the purpose of
rigging a governorship election amidst unethical assault on human rights that
are inimical to the tenets of democracy worldwide. I commend the resilience,
determination and shun of intimidation and corrupted gifts by the people of
Osun State. They have demonstrated that they are indeed the cradle of
civilization in Nigeria. The greatest mistake PDP will make is to field
President Jonathan as their presidential candidate in 2015. The number of excessive
human rights violations on ground is enough to drag this government before the
international court of justice. I know that the thunder of truth will strike
all those who are in a position to rescue those girls but have refused to do so
    for selfish reasons.

  • odiate obong

this goes to show that we are having free fair and violence free elections in our country.kudos to inec and jega.and all those people crying militarisation now that you have won make una let us hear word

  • Fizzlebee

This goes to show how credible the PDP led government is and how much of a false talebearer the APC is. The much noise about the militarization of the elections, the alleged documented plan by the PDP to rig the election, etc has now died down.

  • ismail umar

Now that the election has favored the PDP, there is no talks of rigging and stomach infrastructure , forgetting about the FUFU that APC gave to its followers. Nigerians are so easy to sway. Congratulations to Rauf and Kudos to the PDP for playing a fair game and ensuring electoral tranquility.

  • ismail umar

PDP HAS SHOWN CLASS, AND THE APC MUST LEARN FROM THAT.

    • babs

      you are a clown.

  • john micheals

congratulations to him and the Military forces that ensured there was no violence and to pdp for allowing a free and fair election.
