President Jonathan orders relief for survivors of fuel tanker explosion

President Goodluck Jonathan has ordered all relief and health agencies in the country to provide succor to the survivors of Thursdays tanker explosion in Okobe, Rivers State.

According to a press release signed by the president’s  Senior Special Assistant on Media, Reuben Abati Thursday in Abuja, “The President has directed federal relief and health agencies to do everything possible to ensure that all those who survived the explosion with burns and injuries receive prompt and effective medical attention”.

The president in the release, sent his condolences to families of the victims who lost their lives, the government and the people of Rivers State.

Mr. Jonathan said that he is distraught that so many lives were lost in the inferno, especially as it could have been avoided.
