Air Nigeria is back in the air after a one week strike action by staff demanding better welfare and a brief suspension of its flights by authorities.
The airline resumed flights on Thursday. Samuel Ogbogoro, the Media Relations Manager of the airline, said flights resumed across the domestic and regional routes.
He said the resumption is coming after a successful audit and clearance of its fleet of aircraft by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA).
The audit which led to the grounding of the airline the previous day, is a routine check that follows industrial action by staff of airlines, to ensure safety standards are restored to normal levels, Mr. Ogbogoro said.
Pilots and engineers of Air Nigeria embarked on the week-long strike to press for improved conditions of service.
The ticketing and boarding counters of the airline were still scanty on Thursday but the airline’s cargo plane was sighted taxing in the Lagos Airport.
