Security agents uncover planned terrorist attacks on Borno

The Joint Task Force (JTF) on Operation Restore Order (ORO) said on Friday that it has uncovered plots by some terrorists to cause havoc during the democracy day celebrations in Maiduguri.

JTF spokesman, Sagir Musa, made this known in a statement in Maiduguri.

“Information available to JTF revealed that some terrorists are planning to cause mayhem as a deliberate effort to disrupt the democracy day activities in the state.

“Members of the group intend to attack some identified locations in Maiduguri and environs,” Mr. Musa said.

He warned that the JTF would deal ruthlessly with anyone found trying to breach the peace in the state.

“The JTF, therefore, warns in strong terms that terrorists and other criminals should stay clear of the evil plan as the taskforce will deal ruthlessly with any one or group that tries to disrupt the peace,” he said.

He advised members of the public not to panic but to continue with their routine activities.
