President Muhammadu Buhari is on his way back to Abuja from London, United Kingdom.
Mr Buhari left Abuja on Tuesday on a four-day medical trip to the UK.
He had stayed in London for two days last week while returning from Washington, United States, where he met with President Donald Trump.
A statement by a presidential spokesperson, Garba Shehu, on Monday said, “In the course of the technical stop-over for aircraft maintenance in London on his way back from Washington last week, the president had a meeting with his doctor.”
Mr Shehu said the doctor requested “the president to return for a meeting which he agreed to do.”
Mr Shehu said “President Buhari will return on Saturday, May 12th,” he said.
PREMIUM TIMES gathered that Mr Buhari left the UK Friday afternoon, one day ahead of schedule.
A video tweet posted by @APCUnitedkingdom indicated that the President’s flight left Stansted Airport, London at about 12:33 p.m. Nigerian time.
A source at the Presidential Villa said Mr Buhari is expected to land at Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport Abuja by 7pm.
