Members of the Peoples Democratic Party in the House of Representatives after walking out of today's sitting

Members of the Peoples Democratic Party in the House of Representatives on Tuesday walked out of a House sitting in protest against the failure of Speaker Yakubu Dogara to declare a defector’s seat vacant.

The lawmakers want the speaker to declare the seat of Nnanna Ibekwe, who just decamped to the All Progressives Congress, APC, empty.

The lawmakers are currently addressing journalists.

The defecting lawmaker was among those listed by P/T as having the lowest qualification (WASC) in the National Assembly. I am told his people in Imo State are disappointed over his representation. He wants a secure place – non-performers’ haven.

I very well know that if this guy had decamped from the apc to the pdp,you would have either kept quiet or ascribed it to the unprincipled nature of our politicians. For the sake of argument, even if he were a school cert holder, does that make him less human? His constituents voted for him and he contested and won on the platform of a political party who didn’t make the noise you’re making now. And by the way, where have all the graduates and the PhD holders led us?In what way have their big qualifications benefitted us as Nigerians? They have only been using their big school degrees to mask their real intentions which oftentimes are just to corner as much of our commonwealth as they can, a particular one with a very big degree even said that stealing is not corruption,as mind numbing as that was, that was and still is his own idea of leadership.Big university degrees are not synonymous with wisdom and good leadership skills, afterall Bill Gates, the richest man on earth is not a university graduate, neither is our own Aliko Dangote. The Rep member that just decamped is emblematic of the kind of system we run in Nigeria,it’s all about where I can get more food, the party in power, so all of us have to go there so as to corner all the food.

I have made my enquiries. His correct names are Nnanna Igbokwe, representing Ezinihitte/Ahiazu Federal Constituency in Imo State. I am told the two LGAs have an arrangement to alternate the candidates every 4-year term. The lawmaker is from Ahiazu and it is the turn of Ezinihitte to produce a candidate this year. He has been having a running battle with the people over poor representation and the handicaps of limited education. Knowing that APC is a party of ‘certificateless’ leaders, he has to seek refuge in APC to guarantee his return to the House come 2019. I don’t dwell on irrelevances.

Let’s hope that Nigeria herself will not decamp to Libya

    • Shahokaya

With the way your people are running to Libya and being sold into slavery you really need the prayers.

  • Mahmud Mohammed

More pdp senators and Rep’s members would decamp to APC next year 2018, due to corruption that mare pdp from convention. Pdp is dead party even the members that are protesting would decamp very soon.

    • Tunsj

      Exactly what I was thinking.

  • Tunsj

I’ve said it before, and I will say it again. Nobody with an IQ above room temperature will ever vote for PDP again.

Hurray!!! for all the period of GEJ, it takes 6-7hrs to journey from Lagos to my village in Delta, but last weekend it took me 4hrs to reach and also 4hrs from my village to Lagos; surely better days are here. Thank you PMB and his able serious minded lieutenants!

So,big cetificates should decide who we vote for and other political parties all have members who possess big certificates. For me, all I want is good governance for everybody no matter the tribe, colour or whatever kind of distinguishing stuff, l just want the best for our nation and if you’re trying to drive at pmb, well, you know, Nigerians were presented two major candidates in2015,one with all kinds of big certificates who allowed grass to grow under his feet, we were making unprecedented amount of money from oil sales and much of it was just ending up in big people’s pockets and he said that stealing was not corruption, the arrogance was sickening,he even said he didn’t give a damn, Nigerians bided their time and waited. And on the other hand, you had an ex army general who had and still does have zero tolerance for corruption despite the noise of the naysayers, pmb, humble to a fault,a very good friend of the masses. Nigerians rejected the big degrees man flatly in spite of the fact that he emptied the cbn vaults, buying off everybody, royal fathers and all kinds of people, he traversed the entire landmass of Nigeria, painting the town red with money, he was a mobile ATM.Well,Nigerians rejected him and his piles of cash and we are about to reject the perennial presidential candidate with all his money again and then he’ll retire to continue worshipping his money. How I wish the PhD man could come back to contest again with all his biafra or death group and see how he’ll be disgraced again even much more woefully than it was before but I won’t hold my breath on that.I know he will only be making all kinds of noise propping up another ATM, atiku, we will shame their pdp, the PhD man and atiku and his atiku or death group and then they will go back and come up with another biafraud or death. This is pmb’s time. People like him no matter the noise of wailers who have lost their feeding bottle, more free money, the wailers should get used to it.
