The Super Eagles of Nigeria have finished their World Cup qualifier with no defeat as they played out a 1-1 draw against Algeria on Friday night in Constantine.

John Ogu, with a wonder strike, gave Nigeria the lead in the 62nd minute, before Algeria pulled level late from the penalty spot.

The Eagles had 14 points from six games during the qualifiers; winning four and drawing two.

With the qualifiers now done and dusted, next stop for the Eagles is Tuesday’s international friendly against Argentina in Russia.

That clueless Togolese referee awarded a very questionable penalty to Algeria when the home fans have already gave up on their team and were leaving the stadium. It was a face saving point for Algeria which they did not deserve. They were visibly outclassed by the Super Eagles…….

      Very correct…francophone referee…typical.

Shehu it was who was on the floor with Brahimi further handling the ball while fully staying on his feet.

The Super Eagles would have ended the qualifiers on a record 16 points and Algeria on 1 point ……. hence the “home ground” decision.

Anyway, huge kudos to the team and the technical crew for qualifying for the World Cup unbeaten.

Winning the World Cup…..only 7 tournament matches….. is not impossible.
