Two deputies to Boko Haram leader Shekau killed – Nigerian Army

Shekau New 1

Two Boko Haram commanders and deputies to Abubakar Shekau, a factional leader of the terror group, were killed in successful military operations at Alafa in Borno on Sallah day, an official has said.

The Army spokesman, Sani Usman, said in a statement on Tuesday that the deputies that were killed in the onslaught included Afdu Kawuri and Abubakar Banishek.

“This is in addition to Ba’Abba Ibrahim and two other Boko Haram commanders that died after sustaining injuries during their last ambush at Magumeri Local Government Area of Borno,” he added.

He said five other key leaders of the group and close associates of Mr. Shekau were neutralised in joint bombardment in August.

Mr. Usman described Mr. Shekau’s latest video in which he taunted the army as an act of desperation and lies by remnants of the insurgents to instil unnecessary fear in law abiding citizens.

In the video, the group denied the killing of its five key commanders and claimed it had wonderful Sallah celebration in the Sambisa forest.

“We wish to challenge the so-called terrorist leader to produce the five key commanders earlier killed or the video of those Ameers he claimed not dead and are still with him.

“It is also instructive to note that Shekau is scared and rattled by the 40-day ultimatum issued by the Chief of Army Staff to Operation LAFIYA DOLE to fish him out,” Mr. Usman, a brigadier general, said.

200+ killed from April this year. At least much progress is achieved. 200+ people killed was a daily three-time dosage some years ago. We thank God for the progress in restoration of peace in the Northeast.

Simple question for this lying administration – how many deputies does this Shekau have that this administration army have been killing them and we still have two that was killed during the Salah as reported in this article – just another propaganda to divert the attention of the gullible from the elephant in the room – Buhari cancelling FEC meeting with flimsy excuse of Salah holiday affecting the preparation of the Salah.

If NBS could work and publish the news about Nigeria coming out of recession immediately after the Salah break, what justification does the highest decision making organ at federal level not to hold their meetings. Keep allowing yourself to be deceived by this lying administration. Nigeria we hail thee

Has it ever occurred to you that NBS report is always done /compiled throughout the year not in a day , a week or a month ? Hellooooooooo !!! anybody home ?

Please ask yourself why the people responsible for making sure that memos to be discussed are not ready prior to going on holiday.

I don’t need to dignify with response but please use your God given brain reason and call a spade a spade – That FEC could not sit because of Salah holiday that ended on Monday – does it show any sign of seriousness from presidency that needs to show the nation how to govern and administer institutions (organisation).

Imagine how the international community will be viewing Nigeria, that they highest decision making organ could not hold regular meeting after holiday that ended two days before the meeting – please go and get a life if you’re not bothered about the way Buhari has been handling governance

‘Imagine how the international community will be viewing Nigeria, that they highest decision making organ could not hold regular meeting after holiday that ended two days before the meeting’
Can you tell me how the International community viewed the United States when Clinton, Bush, Obama postponed or cancelled cabinet meetings for one reason or the other ?

The poor creek monkey is deep asleep, or drunk. You know beer parlor things.

      • Inyamiri

Your meaningless questions doesn’t change the fact that 200+ people killed from April this year and that the same amount was a daily three-days dosage during gudlok administration. Sometimes thousands are killed in a day because he (jonah) says ‘boko haram are his people’ so he won’t kill them. He said that shekau was in the Aso Villa. He said ‘stealing is not corruption’…. blah blah blah. Just his usual beer parlor utterances.

Thank God he is now in the creeks.

Please can you remind the audience what your people said when Ihejirika dealt a heavy blow against BH during GEJ if GEJ did not intend to tackle BH?

Ideological BH were ferociously tackled by GEJ while Political BH were difficult to contain because of what they are – pawns in the chessboard of cabals that wanted power to return to North.

Now, that the power have returned, the political BH have disappeared while the ideological BH is still alive and kicking under this administration. Nigeria we hail thee

          • Inyamiri

But I remember Ihejirika’s name being mentioned by Stephen Davies whom GEJ government invited to mediate between itself and BH as one of the sponsors of Boko Haram. What do you make with that?

  • zacchaeus Akinleye

When is Shekau himself going to be liquidated? We’re tired of hearing raids killing hundreds of insurgents who soon “resurrect” again to attack civilians. The military campaign lacks direction and bereft of clear strategy for success.

    • Inyamiri

Were you born around the years 2012, 2013, 2014 and early 2015? If you were, then I wonder why you said what you said.

  • thusspokez

He said five other key leaders of the group and close associates of Mr. Shekau were neutralised in joint bombardment in August.

Maybe Mr. Shekau doesn’t exist, otherwise why has any of these captured lieutenants of his not led the Nigerian army to his hideout? Or maybe his has an insider who is high up in the Nigerian command and is involved in the planning and execution of the war against him. Someone who gives him advance warning.

    • Inyamiri

You can ask Alex Badeh that question.
