Charly Boy leads protest to EFCC, wants Diezani extradited

CHARLYB

Nigerian musician, Charles Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy, on Monday led a protest to the headquarters of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, in Abuja.

The protest which was peaceful was organised to demand the extradition of former minister of petroleum resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke, from the UK to Nigeria.

Mrs. Madueke is currently standing trial in Nigeria and the UK for alleged misappropriation of the nation’s funds while she held sway as minister during the immediate past administration.

Two weeks ago, Charly Boy led a series of protests to demand that President Muhammadu Buhari either resume office or resign.

The protests which led to chaos at the popular Wuse market in Abuja perhaps made Mr. Oputa to suspend further rallies.

President Buhari returned to the country a few days later.

The EFCC, while receiving the protesters, said it would follow the rule of law to the letter in treating the case against Mrs. Madueke.

In a statement issued by the Secretary to the Commission, Emmanuel Aremo, the anti-graft agency said “it remained committed to the rule of law, as this was paramount in the fight against corruption.”

“Let us be patient and let us follow due process. We on our part will ensure that no stone is left unturned as we intensify the war against corruption,” he said. Mr Aremo urged the group, which also had an activist , Deji Adeyanju, present, not to relent in their support for the EFCC’s fight against corruption.

After-thought protest by man-child Charly Boy to make up for the failed “resign” protest.
Denziani cannot leave the UK as the UK govt is investigating her. The cl0wn who claimed “Stealing is no Corruption” and under whose watch the monumental looting took place is alive and living in Nigeria; why not protest to have EFCC arrest and prosecute him using the death penalty.

    • Frank Bassey

“After-thought protest by man-child Charly Boy to make up for the failed “resign” protest.” ARE YOU SURE YOU’RE IN THIS COUNTRY? HOW WOULD YOU SAY THE PROTEST WAS A FAILED OUTING. IT WAS NOT. IT ACHIEVED IT’S OBJECTIVE. THE UK ARM TOOK UP FROM THERE, AND PMB FLED HOME.

      • 0tile

That’s why the odua muslim bigot is mad at him and calls him man-child. The dolt would be happy that Carly Boy brought his god back to him otherwise Imam would still be in England with the Yorubas taking turn to visit him to do their pretense worship of him.

    • 0tile

You are a fat bigot through and through. Nonsense

    • Dan maikoko

Sometimes we miss the elephant in the room, Dumbo should be arrested .

  • Frank Bassey

If you like, sleep at EFCC; you can NEVER please PMB.

  • emmanuel

    Kudos to Charly Boy & Team. I will personally join them tomorrow. We must now not stop with Diezanni Madueke. We must take the fight to ALL.The following must be some of our urgent demands in our protests forthwith;

    1. The immediate resignation of the DG of Immigration for the fraud and racketeering “uncovered” by recent investigations
    2. The demand for the extradition of MKO Abiola back to earth to face trial for ITT fraud in the late seventies.
    3. The demand for the arrest and prosecution of all past presidents as they all have assets of far more value than their legal income in time past can explain
    4. The seizure of the hill top houses of OBJ, IBB, Abdulsalami, Gowon, and all state Govs who have property scattered in US & UK
    5. Etc, etc, etc

    • Okokondem

As FOX media empire would say about their news reporting….you are “fair & balanced”. If Nigeria is truly serious about recovering and repertrating her looted wealth it must be all inclusive. As we speak, the men and women of the national assembly are complaining about free money allocated to them for new cars not being enough. Ask members of the US Congress if they get free money for new cars.

      • Okokondem

        Sorry, that’s is repatriate.

  • Holy truth

I rather will not want dat gluttonous greedy & self-centred frog eyes woman extradited back to Nigeria, if dat happens she will xcape justice. She will do her time in prison in England when she finishes she will be extradited to the US 4 another round of prison time.
We haven’t 4gotten just how d jail bird James ibori xcaped justice by bribing & manipulated Nigeria justice system & got off d hook then ran out Nigeria to UAE only to be bundled, sealed & delivered to d British police, prosecuted & voluntarily pleaded guilty & sentence to prison at d end he was booted out of UK only to be celebrated as hero in his village.
No o charly boy let dat greedy thief do her time in England she will be dealt with accordingly after her prison term. I’m on d other hand suspecting charly boy, I hope it’s not what I’m thinking. May be na game plans so dat she can be extradited to come & walk free in Nigeria. Charly no go put hand 4 wetin go burn ur fingers o, na gentle warning o.

    • 0tile

Have you lost anything with Buruji back in Nigeria?

      • Holy truth

U are suffering 4rm brain haemorrhage, dat’s y u can’t reason like a normal human being. Go hail ur jailbird hero perhaps u will get chop chop money today.

        • Otile

Tout, you sound like your cohort, fake lawyer kayode soyemi. Same agbero phrases …brain haemorrhage, jailbird hero, chop chop money. Shame on you lot.

  • Angry9jerian

Why did Charly Boy not protest against Ikoyi money? So it is true that his group is sponsored by certain politicians. Na wao! This Nigeria sef!

One would have expected that a protest to demand the Osinbajo releases the report of their findings would bother Charly Boy & Company. We have raw cash stolen and found here in Nigeria and the thieves are protected by presidency but all you care about is Diezanni who is taking treatment like Buhari in London.

    • Dan maikoko

Isn’t Charly Boy fair? He smoked Buhari out of his medical hideout to a point where Buhari could no longer take the heat and he resumed rather than resign. Now Charly is following through with all fairness to dislodge Diezani from her own medical dugout. What do you want from Charly again? A campaign for the extradition of Abacha from the hereafter?

  • Ijeuwa

So far they’re attacking soft targets.

Let them go after the legislooters.

    • 0tile

How dare them? Shameless hypocrites and cowards.

  • Dr Pat Kolawole Awosan

Charlie Boy, with other patriotic elites, demonstrating and demanding for the EFCC to seek the extradition of the former oil minister,Diezani Alison Madueke, must try to understand that Diezani Alison Madueke, may have deliberately escaped to London,UK. in order to avoid president Muhammadu Buhari,s governmant investigation, arrest and prosecution.
But, while in London,UK. Mrs Diezani Alison Madueke, is currently under house arrest by the London,UK. court order as requested by the National Crime Agency, in London,UK. which is currently prosecuting Mrs Diezani Alison Madueke, for bribery and money-laundering of Nigeria oil/gas revenues which she looted and invested in various real-estate properties in London,UK.
Nigeria FG. through EFCC must request to UK. to confiscate and repatriate back to Nigeria Federal Government. All various real estate properties purchased by Diezani Alison Madueke, with Nigeria-stolen public funds, must be recovered back as Diezani Alison Madueke, is surely facing prosecution and jail-term eventually before she would finish her prison term before she could be deported back to Nigeria, just like former Delta State, governor chief. James Ibori.
@Ijeuwa:disqus : So all these discovered Lagos,Abuja,Port-Harcourt and London,UK as well as Dubai,UAE. detected properties owned by Diezani Alison Madeke, worthtrillions of Naira are soft targets? Really! You are a moron indeed.

  • Jon

Charlie is a punk ass slave of Hausa/Fulani. He should have been protesting for “Restructure or Referendum.”

    • MilitaryPolice01

Jon, restructure or referendum without the change of mentality, mindset of Nigerians will yield no result. I was an advocate of restructuring having seen the farce in the call for referendum, but after weeks of intellectually stimulating debate/discourse with friends, foes and contemporaries, I have come to the valid conclusion that the root cause of the Nigerian problem lies not in referendum or restructuring, but a change in our perception, mindset and disposure towards patriotism, ethnicity, corruption, and religion.

      • Jon

All that we are asking for is to revert to pre-independence constitution or referendum.

    • Sincere-Voice

When he protested against Buhari, he was no punk, but now, he is a punk. You need to be delivered little boy.

  • Godwin Onowakphor

Niger delta amnesty program continued. Any interested person with at least o level, within the Niger delta region should contact Mr Godwin 08088641385

    • Sincere-Voice

So this is now how people are recruited for amnesty?
You’re a thief! Find something worthwhile to do.

      • Godwin Onowakphor

Well thank you. I’m very busy but I love to reply critics, you’re ignorant not to have verified. It was posted here because the government didn’t pay for the advert.

        • Sincere-Voice

Verify what? You better go and work with your hands and stop looking for people to defraud. So you’re now government agency that advertise government policies?
          It is well with you.

      • Olatubosun

He is senseless don’t mind him jare

    • MilitaryPolice01

People like you have made the progress/development of our country difficult and almost impossible.

  • Sincere-Voice

That woman never stole anything in her life. She’s a just an a honest woman. I salute her wherever she is. A thief come but to steal, to kill and to destroy. This woman is an embodiment of thievery according to the Bible. She deserves an Oscar!

  • Olatubosun

This woman is a professional thief…
Imagine huge amount of money she stole…

The money that belongs to everyone of us

    We will surely curse you

  • JOHN

This protest is becoming misplaced and irresponsible. Mallam Sanusi as governor of Central Bank has been indicted by audit report to have mismanaged hundreds of billions of Naira yet no protest to compel efcc to investigate and prosecute him. Ameachi has been indicted by a legally constituted commission of inquiry of pinching over 93 billion naira from one transaction and yet no protest to force efcc to prosecute him and for Buhari to sanction him. Raji Fashola was reported to have hidden over 800 billion naira from Lagos State accounts yet no protest to force efcc to investigate and prosecute him. Is it because they hate the woman Deziani? What is good for the goose is also good for the gander.

  • Izedomi Ohirein

Charley Boy is the biggest MUMU at 66. AGF is the chief law officer of Nigeria, not EFCC.
The Woman is standing trial in Britain and has a case to answer in USA.
We do not need her in Nigeria, when her assets here could be recovered without her and are being recovered already.
