The governor of Ekiti State, Ayo Fayose, on Wednesday hinted that he would leave the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, should the crisis in the party continue by 2018.

The governor, who gave the hint while meeting with the Suppliers Association of Nigeria, Ikere chapter, at Ikere-Ekiti, expressed concerns over the crisis which led to the failure of the PDP to win the Ondo State governorship election held Saturday.

“I don’t know the platform I will use for the 2018 election yet and at the appropriate time, I will tell you,” Mr. Fayose said.

“We are still studying the situation. We have to play the game left, right and centre and whoever we are going to use and the platform, you will all be part of the process because party politics is about the people.

“You all saw how people sold their votes in Ondo state, I am confident that that will not happen in Ekiti.

“I am close to the people; you are the source of my strength. Even if it requires just 48 hours to any election, if I tell you where to go, you will surely follow me there.”

He said the emergence of Rotimi Akeredolu of All Progressives Congress as governor of Ondo State posed no threat to the PDP in Ekiti State.

At a separate meeting with junior workers of the state civil service, Mr. Fayose assured that his party would defeat the APC in the 2018 governorship election, while promising to ensure the payment of salaries of the workers.

“APC will be fooling itself if it thinks it will conquer Ekiti like it did in Ondo,” he said. “Ekiti is a peculiar place and I am the man on ground here.

“I want to assure my supporters and Nigerians that APC won’t win a local government here in 2018, even if President Muhammadu Buhari moves down all the money in FG’s TSA.

“Governor Olusegun Mimiko and Eyitayo Jegede must have lost in Ondo State, but that does not mean the people had voted rightly.

“In 2015, people clamoured for change and what have we got now? Nigerians are becoming poorer than ever.

“Today, I am the only one among the APC governors in the southwest. I am now like the nation of Israel surrounded by enemies, but I shall defeat and triumph over them.

“APC has never defeated me in any battle, either political or legal. Whether they like it or not, I will win in Ekiti no matter the animosity, because I have the people behind me.”

Mr. Fayose’s Special Assistant on Public Communication and New Media, Lere Olayinka, clarified that the governor had no plans to defect from the party.

He told PREMIUM TIMES that the governor’s statement suggested that if the situation that made the PDP to lose the Ondo election resurfaced, he would have no choice but to seek an alternative platform.

“He is not leaving the party,” Mr. Olayinka said. “He was only being futuristic to the intent that if the problems that affected the party in the Ondo state persist, then he would have no choice but to leave the party.”

He added that the move would be necessary not to suffer the same fate as Mr. Mimiko and Eyitayo Jegede suffered at the polls on Saturday.

The Ekiti Hallucinator-In-Chief is paranoid now that he is all by himself, and a future behind bars now becoming an almost certainty. The future belongs only to the righteous!

    • humanbeing

Is there anything like a righteous politician in Nigeria?

  • haba mallam

Good riddance to bad rubbish, please don’t let him into APC

    • NwaIgbo

OH NO, LET the chief rigger join APC from where he will grace KUJE prison for 30-40 years. Fayose, your brothers- Dasuki and Metuah are no longer disturbing our airspace. Your time is coming and you will not be allowed to escape underground to Ghana.

  • FreeNigeria

PDP, APC different acronyms, same worthless politicians.

    • FEMI A USA

Yes please. Danfo boy is corrupt to the extend of distributing rice and chicken during election and accusing the APC for following his footstep. He beat a judge in the office and APC storm the residences of judges in the middle of the night not knowing many of these judges are corrupt. Many have ATM in their houses even in toilet. APC is waiting for him with open arms and sin no more. They are corrupt from head to head.

Hehehehe….hehe. I don laugh so tay I fall down for chair. Where are those blind people following this man Fayose, I want to hear from them. My question is, Can the blind lead the blind?
The TRUE reason Fayose is opening his mouth singing and dancing, and even beating the drum at the same time is because he knows what awaits him come 2018. Fayose is a crook, a careful study on Fayose will show you that he is a complete low-life, honestly if not politics this man would have been a thug or one of those arm robbers terrorizing the banks in Ado- ekiti. But the worst of it all is that he is a COWARD, his fear knows no bound.

With Koro’s coperation with the EFCC, Fayose knows he is already a minced meat, immediately it is 1 am October 19, 2018.

  • Debaptist

Very sad to know that another party will be willing to carry this liability along.

  • Curseless

Anyone can write this down. Fayose will break for the APC in a heart beat. The man is speaking in parables now because by moving his departure from PDP to 2018 when his immunity will expire is very telling. This is a proof that a man that is shedding tears can see 20/20 at the same time. Fayose is a coward, as he will start singing a new song when the time comes, and for his people that he boasted will follow him to Golgotha in 2018, I say he is dreaming as his money would have been forfeited to EFCC before then. Buying his way to governors office can’t happen again.

The spirits of the living and deceased average Nigerians, are the spiritual forces fighting against all PDP leaders nationally and statewide that PDP leaders know no peace and stability but are plotting against PDP aspirants in every region in Nigeria. How can PDP led regime ruled Nigeria, for sixteen years and wrecked our public treasuries to the state of bankruptcy and still think it would survive?
PDP careless about the welfare and goodness of Nigerians but only care for self-enrichment not to serve their fathers land or create employment for the unemployed graduates and train the youths in order to give them hope for a brigghter future…

    • Osakue

The poor innocent souls that died during 1999 to 2015 because of PDP will never let them rest in peace. Haba! Too many lost souls

      • Arabakpura

Even the spirits of the innocent Chibok girls whom they have deliberately ignored to acknowledge! I don’t see them making progress!

  • sammyctu ode

As far as more than 90 percent of Nigerians are concerned pdp is a dead and buried party cos God gave them power for 16 years and they ruined Nigeria with recklessness abandonment, they became the drunk party, they stole trillions many times over, they sent thousands of Nigerians to their early graves, development was non existence and above all they sinned against God Almighty. As for the deranged fayose after he leaves office in 2018, he will be arrested prosecuted and jailed for the rest of his natural miserable life and Nigerians will never hear his ugly evil voice forever. Whether he likes it or not APC will win Ekiti state in 2018 cos the Ekiti people are smart intelligent and highly educated. Late Great respected Chief Awolowo gave the SW zone the great foundation of everything progressive and we are not about to sell that birthright to thugs like fayose cos SW people are the conscience of the nation and we are proud to be THE GREAT YORUBAS. People from other zones troop to the SW for success, survival and milk of opportunities cos of the sustainable foundation Chief Awolowo laid for this great region.

Fayose too wan dump PDP for APC , the dumping ground for all comers. May be EKITIGATE will be closed and forgotten after?

There goes the mouthpiece of wailing wailers, and soon,I am positive that we will hear from Fani Kayode and his own plans

  • Nkem

The year 2017 is just by the corner. And Fayose knows in his heart of hearts that after 2017 very surely comes 2018. In fact in less than a year from today, preparation will be in full gear to collect the key of government house from him where he would then face a very uncertain future. The clock is ticking while Fayose is shivering. Now he is flying a kite for his traducers to see and know that he is available to negotiate a soft landing. Initially, Fayose thought that 2018 would never come. But the moment of truth is approaching faster than his infantile imagination ever conceived. Tick, tock, tick, tock tick, tock….

PDP has since been sentenced to death. None of the guys has the capability to rebuild and sustain a party. They have destroyed it, the center can no longer hold and everybody has begun to find their levels. It’s unfortunate, PDP couldn’t survive just a loss of national election and now, it’s gradually going into extinction. Before you know it, it would become a regional party and then no more in circulation. Our brothers down South don’t know how to be in opposition. I’m still wondering where they would go as the PDP is gradually loosing its footprint in SouthWest..

Why Fayose is not thinking of prison his sure abode after his term shows how hollow is thinking had shrink. He should be looking forward for his life in jail for all the money he got from Obanikoro.
