Some officials of the All Progressives Congress, APC, have accused an aide to Governor Nasir El-Rufai of offering a N3 million bribe for them to suspend a senator.

The APC executives of Ward 6, , Kaduna South Local Government Area, said this on Sunday at a press conference.

They accused Uba Sani, Mr. El-Rufai’s political adviser, of offering the bribe to some of their fellow executive members to suspend Shehu Sani who represents Kaduna Central in the Senate.

Messrs. Sani and El-Rufai are both leaders of APC in Kaduna but are political adversaries.

Abbas Anni, the chairman of APC, Ward 6, spoke on behalf of his colleagues. He called on the anti-graft agency, EFCC, to investigate the bribery allegation.

The party official also linked the new allegation to a previous one in December last year when some of his fellow executives were accused of receiving N500,000 bribe to suspend Mr. Sani from the party.

Mr. Anni has since said that suspension was void.

“It is very unfortunate that this ugly move is propping up again after the disgraceful episode of a N500,000 bribe that was purportedly given by the same set of people to instigate the alleged suspension of Senator Shehu Sani about a year ago,” he said on Wednesday.

Mr. Anni called on the APC National Chairman, John Odigie-Oyegun, and other leaders to intervene in the Kaduna crisis. He said they should act fast “before the Kaduna State Governor and his cronies destroy APC in Kaduna State.”

In reaction, another official of the APC in the ward, Auwal Abdulhameed.

Mr. Abdulhameed, who said he is the ward secretary, said Mr. Anni got a car from the senator while “the other eight (executive members opposed to Mr. Sani’s suspension) got motorcycles.”

“We have petitioned to the Commissioner of Police and we shall sue for defamation of character over these accusations that we received N3 million from SA on Political to Governor El-Rufai,” he added.

Mr. El-Rufai’s political adviser, Mr. Sani, declined comment when contacted to speak on the allegations.

Why is this diminutive El Rufai always involved in all types of controversies?
He is too dangerously ambitious for the Presidency!
He needs to clear his closet first, to stand a chance.
Shehu Sanni, his adversary, has a higher moral profile than him, if he must be reminded.
This story even makes El Rufai even more shoddy in his ambitious pursuit of a higher post!

Have you heard from the other party before coming to conclusion? We must always listean to all sides before making judgement.

Shehu sani is not from my senatorial district but I must say he is the most active, vibrant and humane senator representing my state. There is no APC in Kaduna as the structure has been collapsed by the Governor and all efforts to revive it proved unsuccessful. The other senators and members of the house of representatives are just dormant law makers.

Why can’t governors tolerate dissent? Who do they think they are? Should they not be humble and accountable?

The greatest opposition that the APC led Government has is from within its own party. Look at the National Assembly for example which is being controlled by APC and yet the Executive could not get things approved speedily nor get support for his policies? There are so many strange bed fellows in APC and that is gradually killing the party unfortunately. It was PDP which destroyed itself, I do hope APC will not destroy itself.

Most people go into politics for their own selfish reasons. Everything we are experiencing should not be a surprise as it should be expected. We the masses should wise up and start using the power of our thumb to get the right people into power. How can people like Stella Odua, Remi Thiefnubu and lots more be senators? Also check out the rats in the house of rep.

Abbas Anni, the chairman of APC, Ward 6, spoke on behalf of his colleagues. He called on the anti-graft agency, EFCC, to investigate the bribery allegation.

But does Abbas Ann have video or audio recording of bribe being offered to help the EFCC bring these people to justice?

    • Yahuza Sani Sagagi

Pls leave that for EFCC to ask, where necessary.

What do you mean “leave that for…”?

So the politicians in Kaduna State are still embroiled in power plays amid the persecution of the Shiites and the vicious ethnic-cleansing of the Southern Kaduna people by marauding Fulani herdsmen.

The good part of current goings-on is that Mr. El-Rufai now leaves no doubt that he is just another Buhari with a university degree. We shall see how he hopes to run for President with his track record in Kaduna State.
