Blame PDP, not APC, for Nigeria’s economic woes – Dogara

Speaker, House of Reps, Yakubu Dogara.

The speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, has called on critics of the All Progressives Congress-led administration to stop blaming the government for the current economic challenges facing Nigeria.

Mr. Dogara made the call in a statement signed by his Special Adviser, Media and Public Affairs, Turaki Hassan.

The statement said Mr. Dogara made the statement when he received unemployed Aeronautic Engineers and Pilots from Bauchi State who paid him a courtesy visit.

He said instead of the blaming the APC-led government, the people who brought Nigeria to its current state should be blamed.

Mr. Dogara said the Buhari-led government was working hard to sanitise the system, adding that it would take some time to achieve the objective.

“You know that we are facing challenges in the country at the moment.

“Even though people do not want to talk about on the ground that we campaigned that we are going to fix the country,” he said.

“We have sowed in the wind and we are now reaping whirlwind and as long as the earth abides, there will be seed time and harvest time.

“We do not want to dwell in the past, we are facing the future,’’ he said.

The speaker urged unemployed youth in the country not to despair and assured them that the government was doing everything possible to create job opportunities.

“Investment in education, skills and knowledge is never a wasted investment,’’ he said and expressed optimism in the ability of the government to reduce unemployment in the country.

“Don’t despair because no training is wasted; but it is our responsibility to open the private sector for job opportunities,’’ he said.

He urged Nigerians to join hands with the government to sanitise the system to enable it create job opportunities, especially for the youth.

“If youths are not employed, it will be a disservice to the society as well as discouragement to the graduates, ’’he said.

Speaking earlier, the leader of the team, Capt. Bala Jibrin, said that the pilots and aeronautic engineers, who were sponsored by Bauchi State Government to acquire knowledge in the United States, graduated in 2011.

Mr. Jibrin, who said that the pilots and aeronautic engineers had been unemployed since their arrival in the country, requested the speaker to facilitate their employment.

He said that the Bauchi government spent N1 billion to train the 20 youth drawn from the 20 Local government areas of the state. (NAN)

Blame game. APC is populated by PDP members who defected only months ago. If we are to blame past administration, then APC, as presently constituted is to share blame for past wrongdoings. Past administration will blame OBJ and Yar’Adua Administration. These would blame the Military. The Military will blame First Republic and Nigeria’s Founding Father, who are now off the scene will blame the British Colonial masters. And the Colonial maters will blame…….. The blame continues.

Dogara and APC, Nigerians did not vote for blame game. They voted for Change that was promised by APC.Stop this blame game and get to work. The blame game is getting nauseating!.

    • Okafor

Then the Colonial Govt will blame King Jaja of Opobo, Oba Kosoko of Lagos, Nana of Itsekiri, Oba Overhame of Benin, King Ibanichuka of Okrika, King Koko of Nembe etc etc. Not long ago Oyegun blamed Jonathan’s men., now it is the turn Dogara. Saraki’s we are waiting for your turn. Jieeeee. APC na so una be?

      • share Idea

What Dogara is telling Nigerians, is that Nigerians should assume that APC is charge of of Nigeria but PDP government that was voted out – if not, how does he expect Nigerians to complain to the party they supposedly voted out. Nigeria we hail thee

  • JSA1

Hon. Dogara, JUST SHUP UP YOUR MOUTH! You and Saraki connived with the same PDP to mess up the National Assembly Leadership against the interest of your party that sponsored you. Your actions have given the evil PDP all the energies to raise their ugly heads against the President who meant well for the good people of Nigeria. Just bury your heads in shame. Your initial fears that made you and Saraki to connive with the PDP to mess up the NASS is due to your fear of the fight against corruption that PMB was going to embark upon in Nigeria. No matter what you plan with the opposition to make the good policies of PMB’s administration not to see the light of day, you will not succeed. God will give victory to Nigeria and Nigerians. PMB will surely succeed. The die is cast. If you like continue with your PDP collaborators, Tambuwal, Atiku, Tinubu and the rest of the few bad eggs in APC to work against the President. God will expose all of you one by one at the appropriate time. APC has majority in the NASS yet, it constitutes the greatest opposition to the President and his policies for the good people of Nigeria.

My major concern now is the mistake of PMB for allowing PDP appointees of Jonathan to still remain in government agencies till date. By now, all the ambassadors, IG, CBN Govr., THE MOST CORRUPT CJN + Other Corrupt Justices and all other Jonathan appointees in various government agencies should have been removed and replaced with those that will help him achieve his programmes for Nigeria. The earlier the better for MR President. Even if Mr President is not interested in a second term, APC should approach the next election stronger than they were when they were in the opposition; but because of greed of few bad eggs in APC, such as Dogara, Saraki and co., they would prefer to make things worse for Mr President by helping PDP that was rejected by Nigerians in 2015 general elections.

Let those who are close to Mr President advise him well if not, what PDP is planning with Saraki and Dogara will spell doom for APC in the next elections. Its better they are cut off now. Delay is dangerous! Take for instance, PDP has coronated the renowned Boko Haram Sponsor as their Chairman yesterday. That’s just the beginning.

Tell your clueless Buhari to drop the charges against Saraki before the Budget will be passed. Dogara and Saraki worked for the emergence of APC government, you cannot stop them from being part of the spoils of war they fought. Was the Budget of Corruption prepared in NASS? Buhari’s corruption cravings have been exposed using this Budget of Scandal.

Yes Dogara was in PDP before and should face the task of rebuilding the Nation Nigeria which they (politicians) collectively looted. There is nowhere to hide now. Nigeria has become a laughing stock because of the crop of political leaders we have. Change is the Secret Spring of Life and having won the last election on the Mantra of Change, I pray that our politicians should change their attitude towards governance in Nigeria and embrace change for good. Blame game cannot put food on anyone’s table, provide employment, improve our aging infrastructure or improve our rotten image all over the world. Rather, commitment to servant leadership will. May God bless Nigeria and help the President.

    • abodes_124

Its really simple if Jonathans actions in the past which have happened and cannot be undone are responsible for Nigeria’s current and future situation and this government asserts that is so then they might as well pack up and go home and invite Jonathan to come and continue where he left off

  • smart G

The punishment for PDP should be to return them to power to face the economic woes.
    But nobody will ever resign.

    • i hate wickedness

do you love your country at all??? so if they give you chance you will give pdp chance to finish us?

  • MilitaryPolice01

oga dogara even you should know there is no difference between apc and pdp,you are all the same, pdp members of yesterday are now apc members of today, only the naive will fall for your deception..

  • ayobamiba

APC is an axis of evil always looking for escape route from facing their responsibilities. Can u imaging dogora who were part of PDP 16 years leadership now castigating his old party because of his one year decampment to APC.APC is worst than PDP.Nigerians are regretting fallen victim to the most heartless agents of darkness called APC whose mouth is full of lies, propaganda, falsehood peddling, blackmail and deciet.

  • Adele Uhuru

Buhari and these APC politicians are very much demented~

  • Freedom Bini

The endless querella cannot alter the Nigeria Economy that is in lethargus.

  • Darlington

Blame game continues.. Buhari blame GEJ for dry season.

  • Fuzio

PDP has become the weeping child of every APC politician. Obasanjo accused this guy of corruption, he did not deny it, and he turns around and accuses PDP of corruption.
    Only in Nigeria.

  • favourtalk

Yess fir 16 years, they nearly collapsed Nigeria system and economy UT we should give kudos to Nigerians that made the decision of voting the clueless government out at all cost after seeing the way they were running the government. PDP is dead and will never resurrect again
