PDP reacts angrily to claim it insulted Buhari, says president “not God”

Olisa Metuh, Spokesman, PDP

The Peoples Democratic Party has accused the All Progressives Congress of not being able to accept, with equanimity, constructive criticisms of its administration.

In a statement on Saturday, the PDP National Publicity Secretary, Olisa Metuh, said it was unfortunate that the APC and its leaders, who gleefully and unjustifiably poured invectives on former President Goodluck Jonathan in the guise of playing the role of an opposition party, would now not want to condone criticisms.

“Unlike the APC that denigrated the office and person of former President Jonathan by wrongly depicting him as ‘clueless and incompetent’, the PDP remains the most decent, mature and constructive opposition party in our democracy and we have evidenced great respect for the person and exalted office of President Muhammadu Buhari.

“During the Goodluck Jonathan presidency, Mallam Nasir el-Rufai, while in the saddle as interim Deputy National Secretary of the APC, in a post on his twitter page, described President Jonathan as ‘lazy, docile, incompetent, clueless, hopeless and useless leader.’ Other APC leaders made raining abuses on Jonathan a past time.

“The PDP is a very responsible opposition party; our leaders are mature; and we have demonstrated so in our critique of the

president’s responses during the maiden Presidential Media Chat. We have reviewed President Buhari’s performance and concluded that it was uninspiring.
“The entire world listened to President Buhari during the chat and went away with different impressions. We did and came up with the theme of our initial reaction that portrayed him very appropriately as a tyrant. And for purpose of clarity, a tyrant is a ruler who has complete power over a country and who uses the power in a cruel and unfair way, which was why we recommended the suspension of the operation of the constitution so he can rule for the next four years as a maximum ruler.

“In its reaction, his party National Chairman, John Oyegun, magisterially and dictatorially warned that ‘we (APC) may not condone such anymore.’ Our position in the PDP is that we are in trouble as a nation. All we hear from the APC regarding our freedom is ‘we won’t tolerate’, ‘we won’t condone.’ Are these words used by democrats or tyrants?

“So, the PDP too is being warned and coerced on what to say as opposition party. The PDP must be commended for the civil, responsible, mature, issue-based opposition it has played. The nation knows how the APC rained insults on former President Jonathan and that the PDP, during that time, never used words like ‘it would not condone…’

“Some have even criticised the PDP style of opposition as being too civil considering the tyranny we are facing. That is why Chief John Oyegun could term a dictionary word-‘tyrant’- as insulting. Nigerians do not need the PDP or anyone else to make them decide if President Buhari’s APC government fits the definition of a tyrant.

“The real trait of the President was unraveled during the media chat. He has repeatedly shown his scorn for the Legislature, an independent arm of government while sanctioning security agencies’ disrespect for court orders and the impunity of continuous incarceration of people who have been granted bails by the courts.

“Also from his responses, the president has even pronounced a guilty verdict on Col Sambo Dasuki and Nnamdi Kanu of Radio Biafra even before the hearings by the courts. Sadly, even the international community has noted this brazen scorn and disdain for the independence of the judiciary.

“Furthermore, how do we describe a president who openly denigrated an entire race as he did in the media chat when he suggested that the Igbos were insatiable with the appointments his government has so far given to them? Indeed, the timing and the tenor of the president’s comment, given the security and political situation in the land, remain worrisome, especially at a time a nerve-soothing statement from the father of the nation could have reassured the agitators of the need for peace and unity in the nation.

“Besides, it is sad and embarrassing that President Buhari’s anti-corruption crusade has now been reduced to a war between the APC and the PDP as declared by the Office of his spokespersons.

Since they have confirmed that this is what the anti-corruption crusade is all about, the APC is obviously seeking to destroy the PDP so that it can push through Buhari’s second tenure in 2019 without opposition from the PDP.

“This has also confirmed our concern that this is the reason the Federal Government is persecuting, and not prosecuting, Col. Sambo Dasuki. The APC and its leaders fear that Dasuki, given his vast political and security network, may be harbouring a presidential ambition, more so that the PDP has zoned its presidential ticket to the north.

“The PDP is conversant with the sinister plan by the APC-led Federal Government to completely decimate our party by raking up all manner of allegations of corruption against the Goodluck Jonathan administration and leaders of the PDP with a view to taking them to court on orchestrated charges.

“Finally we are aware that President Buhari has directed security agencies to be more vicious in dealing with our members and has continued to subtly coerce the Judiciary to convict those being charged to court. But what gives us joy is that President Buhari is not God and we will not worship him.

Metuh got N450 million from Jonathan’s bazaar with federal resources. This is enough to pay online agents to destabilise a country. Nigerians are not fools to be deceived by his rants. He is simply assuming a bold face so that when arrested he will claim ‘witch hunt’.

    • Gbenga Adebola

Who Funded Gen Buhari Campaign and APC e-thugs?

As General Buhari continues to get encomium for his acclaimed fight against corruption, one critical missing link which many opponent and proponent of his administration have been silent on is, how did the APC fund his election?

We remembered our able General Buhari told Nigerians he took a bank loan to pay for his form.

Firstly, there is strong ethical question hanging on the action of GMB to borrow money from a bank to fund his bid for presidency.

Away from that, the real question as Nigerians look critically into Dasukigate.

We also need to ask the questions.

What was the source of APC’s funding for the last presidential election.

If the president claims that he is not a rich man, then by law, I know there is an obligation to INEC, the government and the Nigerian people to provide audited account of campaign fund for all parties.

Except the President comes clean on this, there is no way he can convince rightly thinking Nigerians, as apart APC mugus and magas, that he is incorruptible.

This is not the issue of wailing but asking a sincere question.

As we all know #dasukigate was used to fund PDP campaign, now ask yourself, dont you thing their will be #APCgate where the money for funding the campaign came from?

How can you be fighting #corruption when you’ve not fought the corruption that brought you to power?

      Who funded APC’s election campaigns?

      • Chuks

Buhari said the quality of tertiary education is poor. You are a very good example.

Who funded Boko Haram? Now we know. PDP

  • Debust

Metuh keep quiet and stop disgracing we igbos

    • Oh!

Metuh is not Igbo! We disowned him a long time ago.

  • Mamman

I told people that Metuh is one of my several Environmental Stressors for the year 2016. Now he has proved me ABSOLUTELY right within the first 48 hours of the year. Prescient me.

  • Pam Daylop

Our expectations of the president is unrealistic. This man has no school certificate. Memories are too short. He is ignorant, uneducated, unintelligent and has nothing to offer anyone, not even his cows. Therefore, I am not surprised about his performance. He cannot do any better. Waste no time in your faith in him. If you expect anything better than what he offered, go back to your school and request a refund of your tuitions. Am sorry folks

    • Felix Udoh

Well said. There is nothing to add.

  • Preye Aganaba

This is the problem we approached 2016 and we still don’t have a leader we can be proud of. No clear economic strategies, the Boko Haram issue hasn’t gone away, workers going to work without being paid. And when questions are asked like the one Olisah Metuh always ask in his press statements and other citizens of your country need clear and concise answers, Buhari comes across as incoherent. APC will make matters worse with a more ridiculous and senseless responses. APC should be ashamed for this kind of personality they gave their ticket to and it’s a sad indictment to a country like Nigeria that has brilliant scholars home and abroad and we are constantly subjected to poor quality leaders, as long as this continues I can’t see any change.

  • Timothy Aseer

We have a president who doesn’t understand global economy. A president who doesn’t know that France Francs and Deutshmark are no longer legal tenders for nearly 18 years now. Where did we even get this illiterate president from? Is this the sort of personality Nigerians are banking on to bring ‘change’? I feel sorry for all of us.

  • Gbenga Adebola

No matter how anyone feels, this is a Democracy and this President is anything but a Democrat!
The Independence of the Judiciary is the singular most pivotal aspect of any nascent democracy to nurture it…. So that the safety of the liberties of the citizenry, which dictators are always quick to want to take away, can be constitutionally safeguarded. .!

Justice Mustapha Akanbi stated in a paper discussing the role of the judiciary and which he delivered on the 12th of September, 2006:
“The separation of powers provided by the constitution appears to me useless and a camouflage if the three arms of government are willed or influenced by the Executive.”
He goes on further to state:

“The implicit confidence of Nigerians in the Judiciary must not be misplaced. The Judiciary is still battling with the Executive and other agencies of Government about the disobedience of Orders of the Court”.

Today we have a President who is behaving like a Dictator – The Accuser and The Judge. The Executive and the Judiciary roled into one!

And none of these is being shielded away from the rest of the world!
The American most respected journal, “The Washington Post”, has also written about Buhari’s Executive High handedness and extra judicial tendencies to ignore court orders…

Just last two weeks, a High Court Judge in Abuja, expressly stated his frustration with having his court orders Blatantly Disobeyed by this administration and thereafter declined to entertain a case…
    Worrisome!

The whole world saw last week as Buhari made a veiled threat to the judiciary to either see to his inclination or have their court orders disobeyed by him.
Commenting on Kanu’s case, Buhari said: “And the one you are calling Kanu, do you know he had two passports, one Nigerian, one British, and he came into the country without any. Do you know he brought equipment into this country and was broadcasting, Radio Biafra; which kind of government do you think should harbour that kind
    of person?”
He then went on to say to the judiciary:
“There is a treasonable felony against him and I hope the court will listen to our case”!

Now, that was Not a plea, that was most unnecessary…
And with that Stern face of his….
    That was a Threat!

The question now is, how long will it take before the SSS and Buhari’s DSS become the Nigerian version of The Nazi Gestapo!!!

    Hiel Buhari!??

A failed Party shouting on it’s dead bed, may it’s soul rest in a perfect hardship

  • Ademola Arowosaye

I think the PDP is truly more civil in its approach in criticising the APC-led federal govt. I stil remember vividly how President Jonathan was always taken to the cleaners in terms of insults, disrespect and denigration to the office of the president by the then opposition party, the APC. Now, the APC is finding it difficult to swallow the pill they invented. Weldone, PDP and keep the fire burning under Buhari and APC’s arses. Nigerians are now convinced that Buhari is a total tyrant and a dictator in a democratic setting. So unfortunate.
I’m proud of olisa metuh, this write up sir has some clearer that you a true democrat, because we all remember when gooodluck jonathan was in power this- so called Apc government was insulting the president left and right, so john oyegun don’t have the effonttery to criticise Pdp. Any 2019 is by the corner I hope nigerians has learnt their lessons.

    • Rommel

In a presidential system of government,an administration is allowed a least two years for policies campaigned on to start taking shape before the opposition starts criticisms but what do we see today in Nigeria,is Nigeria a parliamentary system where we expect the opposition to comment everyday? do these people know and understand what system we are operating? if one cannot reason, that person can at least watch others and emulate,in America today,is it not elected republicans that criticize the Obama’s policies? who is the secretary of the republican party,do you know who that person is?

      • Ademola Arowosaye

Who runs GOP Twitter and Facebook accounts where policies of Democratic government of Obama are criticised daily? Perhaps you may check out the entire timeline of the aforementioned accounts to see that the GOPs started criticising Obama’s administration right from day one.

        • Rommel

I asked you who the secretary of GOP is

        • Rommel

Besides,we know what the GOP stands are on certain issues, what do we know that the PDP stands for? looting public coffers?

        • Oh!

Go see how Bush criticisms disappeared immediately after 9-11.

      • justification

a law is not a law until it is made to become a law, criticism in Democracy has no limitation

        • Oh!

You pulled that out your ass. You probably think you sound very very intelligent with your “a law is not a law until it is a law” brain fart.
Of course criticisms have limitations (especially in a democratic Government). Pick up a book every once in a while. You may actually learn something…….
With regards to criticisms and limitation, you may want to look up patriotism and matters of national security before you start baring your ignorance for the world to see.

      • Oh!

These folks are so shameless that they actually allow the words “past 6 months” out their mouth as a period they are criticizing. 6 Months for a new President!

  • Ifeanyi Chukwujekwu

Sadly, the tragedy of this terrible season we have found ourselves is not so much in the frighteningly deficient leadership of ‘Dr’ Buhari, as in the followership of folks like APC e-thugs who wantonly refuse to see anything beyond the prism of Buhari Is Messiah. This is the real tragedy. Once you dare to critically analyze Buhari’s policies, they bare their fangs and start what is fast becoming a repetitive monotonous bark! It is so suffocating and exhausting, really!!!

    • excel

What is clear is that you don’t treat a monster with kid gloves. The fear of PDP is really about the monster called corruption. The PDP would prefer a situation where Dasuki is left the hook to prevent exposing them further. Pdp is dead. Keep mourning

    • Oh!

      You are talking about yourselves.
You have nothing tangible with which to criticize Buhari. All these rubbish you write about are the same monotonous barks you have been repeating even before he won the presidency. We don’t know where you think this will take you as the vast majority of Nigerians are solidly behind Buhari.

    • Ochon

They are simply bewitched. Infact when you point out any fact that is against their god buhari, they will want to eat you raw

  • Nwokolo

PDP is dead! Though unfortunate that after16 years and a ruling party just dies LIKE THAT.

  • Rommel

The problem really is that the PDP is not yet a political party, that transformation is yet to be made,it was a platform that the military used to return Nigeria to civil rule meaning that from point one, those that joined the PDP had something to gain and now, they seem to be confused, not knowing the system of government we are operating, they seem not to understand the difference between parliamentary system where responses are expected each day on every statement from government because everybody including the prime minister is a member of parliament and presidential system where an administration is allowed time for its policies to take shape before criticism can start like we are witnessing today in America. In the case of the APC,it was a new political party so the party structure could talk but now,it is those in government and the ones seeking to unseat them that should be talking on issues and not a certain publicity secretary of a failed political party that ran the country aground.

    • Maria Darego

You guys are all liars!!!! When you close the door and you look yourself in the mirror, I am certain that you know that Mr. Buhari does not have what it takes to move this country forward! By the end of this 2016; the Naira would be more than 300 to one dollar, petrol would be more than 200 Naira per litre, and there would be acute scarcity of almost every essential consumable product!! Your Mr Buhari would not make it to 2019!

      • Rommel

So in your opinion,a man that inherited zero foreign debt,$62 billion in forex account,$20 billion in excess crude account, oil production of 2.3 million bpd and selling above $100 for 3 and half years yet could not add 1 dollar to what he met after 5 years but degraded the forex from $62 billion to $29 billion, excess crude $20 to $2 billion and nothing to show for the money made under his administration is better placed to govern Nigeria? is this what makes you a truthful person? something must be wrong with your reasoning

        • Maria Darego

I don’t know where you get your figures from so I won’t get into that mud with you! I only hope we would both be around in 12 months to look at the actual prevailing exchange rate, cost of fuel, and availability of essential consumables as I mentioned! Maybe you were not around in 1984/85 but those of us who were around then know that your “God” is actually empty!

  • Uwadiegwu

‘Lazy, docile, incompetent, clueless, hopeless and useless leader.’ That captures President Bokohari very well. Add to those words “forger”, “illiterate” and a dictator who needs help from acute dementia. If Bokohari does not like the heat, he can move back to his native Niger Republic.

  • Fadama

…we will not worship him….Is PDP now a religious entity?

    • Chuks

Because they are used to worshipping a president who massage their hands and bank accounts with money voted to secure Internally Displaced Persons among whom are orphaned kids. A heartless political cult of thieves. Remember the Okija shrine of PDP followers where party faithfuls seek demonic power to loot. Remember printing one presidential form and asking everybody to bow before the saTANic leadership and adopt one candidate in a democracy.
Nigerians should rise up and stop this devilish party from truncating the fight against corruption with their press statements. PDP crooks are sponsoring IPOB and subversive activities using their ill gotten wealth. Metuh was paid over N450 million by Jonathan, more than any president can earn in his lifetime. These crooks are so jittery!

      • Fadama

Spot on. A lot of people wish for the death of PDP but I don’t. That will be the easiest way to put them out of their misery. I want them to be reduced to crumbs and watch us continually make a mockery of their useless existence.

In addition, he is a Wascless leader and the chief priest of the lying liars. I am waiting for arrest warrant.

Primate Elijah Ayodele of INRI Evangelistic Church, Isolo, Lagos has cautioned President Muhammadu Buhari that former President Goodluck Jonathan must be handled with care so it does not boomerang.

According to The Guardian, Ayodele said the tremendous goodwill Jonathan enjoys around the nation for honourably stepping down during the last election and putting Nigeria on a truly democratic path that the world admires, is a major factor why he needs to be handled with care.

He warned against politicization of the corruption war, noting that although Buhari would expend a lot of effort on the corruption war, little would come out of it, as he might shoot his administration in the foot in the process.

He said: ”Buhari’s government will make a lot of efforts in terms of fight against corruption, he may not make much progress. In fact, he might shoot himself in the foot. Buhari has to be careful with Jonathan; it may turn around and boomerang.

”His corruption fight won’t go too far. In fact, Buhari won’t be able to fight corruption as expected. In fact, corruption will weaken Buhari’s government; it’s not going to be easy for the president. It will cause inflation, prices of goods will go up, cost of living will rise and retrenchment will be rampant in all sectors. Life will be hard for Nigerians.”

Speaking on the Nigerian economy, he said: “The economy needs God’s intervention. Buhari does not have the people to run the government and the economy well. Buhari means well, but he must be careful not to play politics with religion and ethnic sentiments. The economy will not do well under Buhari; it will fluctuate. He must make life easy for Nigerians and so continue to retain their trust.

“The country needs a lot of prayers so we don’t experience too many strikes. Some states will collapse economically. In fact, the deterioration of the economy will confuse Buhari. Youth unemployment will skyrocket. There will not be much improvement in energy and power sector until 2017 when we begin to get stability. The Discos (Distribution Companies) and National Energy Regulation Commission (NERC) will have crisis that will make for instability in the sector”.

Speaking on the Niger-Delta crisis, Ayodele tasked Buhari to thread carefully with the amnesty programme for youths in the region, saying how he handles them would make a huge difference for his administration.

The real problem is not whether Mohammed Buhari has been insulted ot not. Anyone who failed an ordinary High School exams deserves no respect, and no other amount of insults can be more distasteful. By his mien and utterances in time past, to which we are all witnesses, this fellow deserves no respect. But in our Nigeria anything goes. I can imagine an American open his mouth and refer to all American citizens as DOGS & BABOOONS and threaten them and then still go ahead to get a party nomination. It is unthinkable. Just like Gaddafi who called his people Cockroaches. Lets call a spade a spade and place culpability where culpability belongs. Buhari is a tyrant. Simple as ABC.

  • Timothy

But Jonathan is a small boy compared to Buhari you can not say because Jonathan was the president and APC insulted him therefore you can do the same to Buhari. lets remind you guys the insults only came during the elections when the PDP openly started attacking Buhari personality and not the manifesto or what is on ground. APC attacked the progress made by PDP so far in development and governance, which was obvious to a new born baby was appalling, that was why they were voted out. But to now compare Jona and Buhari is really disrespectful. In Africa and most part of the world we respect our elders.

Anyways dont worry we still need a viable opposition, I know with the way things are going its almost like PDP will go into extinction. Anyways that is another story for another day. Buhari please forgive them, they are still learning to be in opposition. They still think they have some kind of power or control of the nation.

Who is Buhari to Jonathan–a certificate forger–who enlisted into the army with a fake Fulani school cert from Senegal————If for nothing at least Jonathan gained admission into the university of Port Harcourt with his school cert–Nigerians can with ease cross check those facts–from WAEC—But in the case of Buhari, even WAEC office in Ghana disowned the Oluwole certificate Tinubu forged for him———Here is a man who denied ever collecting vehicles from dasuki and money–only for him to admit later that he did-And-that it was only two vehicles-Is that the type of person that the globe can trust?——He said he had no house in abuja—–that danjuma drove him out of his 20m a year mansion –Unkwown to many—-The same Buhari had rented his mansion to Oronto Douglas—-one of the special advisers to Jonathan——Buhari is a National disgrace——Kano registered 1.9 voters and all the 1.9 voters voted for Buhari in Kano————–another America wonder–animals

It is not a question of big boy vs small boy. The point here is that APC used words that are not complementary in depicting Jonathan and PDP can use same words or worse to describe Buhari. Neither of them (Buhari/Jonathan) may like it but they need to take it on the chin – it comes with the territory. As for me, I want PDP and APC at each other throats if it helps in any way exposing their insatiable appetite to feed at the trough of the nation.

APC can’t stand the heat, it’s getting too much on them. Funny enough, an introspective perspective watch on the side of the APC will see them acknowledge that the opposition attacks on the presidency is not in anyway a fiction but fact, reality and the obvious. I always say and will continue to say this until I can find someone to take it away from my “faniweed” mouth with FACTS that the whole of APC campaigns were outright IRONY of Buhari’s person. Their lies can’t last the test of time. If I’m wrong any Buharimaniac intending to abuse me on this shud plz tell me whom he/she believes their god is and I will tell such fellow the true picture of their god with FACTS AND ILLUSTRATIONS. Only the APES can obey and respect deceit.

Where is the evidence-that Jonathan blew away 2b dollars on women-instead of buying arms-via Dasuki for our soldiers which he did?——Besides has Buhari bought a single bottle of gun power for the troops?-Why not present the findings of the court to us? Instead of keeping the man dasuki in jail and lying to Nigerians-about some fake 2.b rubbish! If buhari says he did not steal 2.8b then why still go back to NNPC where Mrs. Madueke left over 5.6b-as oil Minister?—Can Buhari account for that which Mrs. Madueke left in NNPC-? Yet he went to WORLD BANK–to borrow 2.8b when the woman left 5.6b. Again did Buhari not collect over $300,000 dollars–and 5 vehicles from Dasuki? Why is the media covering up for Buhari? Let Buhari look unto the face of the Holy Quoran and confess his sins to Nigerians–as a man—Conscience is like an open wound or sore——only the truth can heal it—There is no hinding place for Buhari—-and his childish missing Chibok girls like nonsense fulani ati yoruba disapperaing acts with school girls–Separation is the answer not the rule of the fulanis ati yoruba traitors–again-Buhari was imposed on Nigerians by d CIA —What we expect of him is to improve the lot of the masses–and not to go about lying————like a man possessed by the lying spirit of jezebel-while dressed in the robes of boko haram fulani fighters–in aso rock—-pretending to be a Nigerian–animals

  • D oracle has spoken!

On May 29th 2015, a former Military Dictator, Muhammadu Buhari sequel to a contested election in March 2015 against a sitting President in Nigeria, the first time in Africa, an incumbent handed power peaceably, smoothly, heroically to a political rival. Whereupon Mr Buhari then took the Oath of Allegiance to protect the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 and the President’s Oath of office to discharge his duties faithfully, in accordance with the Constitution and the Laws of Nigeria.

Within President Buhari’s first year in office, too soon after he took the revered Oaths, he and state agents acting under his supervision, now demonstrate total lack of respect for Court Orders and at his maiden media chat on Wednesday 30th Dec., instant, Mr President made puerile attempts to justify these breaches, he said inter alia that some persons his regime locked up in cells dehumanized against court orders, Nnamdi Kanu had travelled without his passports. But under the Immigration Act, the President or the Minister may deport anyone who travels without a valid travel document or detain for a period not exceeding 7 days. In holding Mr Kanu beyond the required period they have infracted on the Immigration Act, the Administration of Criminal Justice Act, the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 and subsisting court orders.

With regard to issues of “self-determination”, the crux of Nnamdi Kanu’s campaign of the Independent People of Biafra, IPOB, having communicated IPOB’s intent to all and the United Nations as required by UN Covenant on Civil and Political Rights ratified by Nigeria, that people of any community or group may wish to exercise the right of self-determination with a view to pursuing their economic, social and cultural development; aware that their dignity as human persons had deteriorated and been consciously degraded under the present dispensation, sadly appearing power inebriate.

Call on President Buhari to resign from office or face impeachment proceedings. Alternatively avoid another Burundi, call him to comply with the Orders of Courts.

    Attorney Carol Ajie, LLB(Hons) Benin; B.L(Lagos); MCIArb(UK); LL.M Int’l Legal Studies (Georgetown

    • No Bull …..

I am a little confused with your comment. What’s a candidate supposed to do when defeated in an election, stay put or step down? I can’t understand all the accolades given to GEJ. This man got into office by accident and he knows it. His incompetence proved that he has no business running a complex structure like Nigeria and should have resigned than handover in defeat with all the corruption allegations hanging over his head.

With regard to Kanu and his pursuit: As an Igbo man, he’s does not represent the Igbo middle class not to talk of the elites. You don’t go around insulting your president and other people in the name of Biafra agitation without consequences, not even the most tolerant country in the world would tolerate his actions.

Same old Buhari rubbish—Jonathan stood for election in 2011_he won–in 2015–the CIA connived with Jega ati obj to impose a monster on us—–in the person of Buhari who has never respected the Rule of Law b4 in his entire thieving life–Pa Ajasin of Ondo state was freed by the courts over allegation of corruption which Buhari manufactured against him like he is corrently doing with Dasuki————-Yet Buhari refused to allow the old man go home after the courts freed him————-twice——Dasuki and Kalu have been granted bail on several occoasions by the courts——- but as it is usual with ropgues like Buhari he has again refused to allow them go home———–why? Because Buhari is empty upstairs—-he is just using the socalled anti corruption crusade to deceive Nigerians–Sam,e as APC did wirth the Chibok girls——-no more Fulani ati Yoruba rule for the next 50 yrs—we have had enough of them

    • ALBERT

Your arguments coming from a Lawyer are embarrassing. Did the Burundian crises emanate from the Executive non compliance with court
orders or from a constitutional amendments allowing the incumbent to run for a 3rd term against the spirit and character of the Burundian peace accord? What is your understanding of self determination principle vis a vis any sovereign state? Is there any sovereign state whose
constitution recognizes the right to `self determination of any of its people or constituents? Does the Nigerian constitution or any legal
instruments provide for self determination of any political or ethnic group? Please stop misleading the public.
Who elected Kanu to be the champion for self determination for SE, SS part of Kogi and Benue states? Don`t these people have elected representatives at every levels of governance in Nigeria? What are the roles of the democratic institutions and agencies we have elected for ourselves if not to amend the defects of our birth as a nation? Why do we conduct elections every four years? These Biafra songs are a sad and unfortunate reactions to PDP and Igbo political establishment losing federal elections and for the first time losing the aroma of power at the centre. It is a bitter reaction to their inability, mental laziness and lack of creativity to turn around the fortunes of APGA and PDP into any viable political alternative. The Igbos are generally poor imitators or events and trends. They felt they could resuscitate the Biafran question to get some political leverage and commitment from APC and Buhari. They felt the west made some noise about June 12 and were rewarded with Obasanjo as President, the SS made some noise about `resource control` not self determination are were rewarded with a VP slot and Presidency.

The 1960 UN Charter on the Principles of self determination, were directed at colonies and territories under colonial rule. Reasons why,
most African, Caribbean and Asian colonies were granted Independence at that period and subsequently. There must be basic and fundamental conditions precedence for any nation or people to begin to lay claims or demand for self determination or self rule. Why did Nelson Mandela and ANC not request for self determination but rather end of apartheid and rights to be vote, to be voted for and basic human rights freedoms;like association, right to freedom of movt, equality and equal opportunities.
Baifra has no special status under the Nigerian constitution and it is not a colony or UN trustee under Nigeria, like Southern Cameroon under Nigeria, Namibia under South Africa or Togo land ( Present day Volta region in Ghana. The UN charter on self determination was the reasons why French West Africa governed by France as a single administrative unit with HQs in Dakar became Senegal, Mali, Burkina Faso, Ivory coast, Benin, Togo, Niger. Reasons why, Southern Cameroon left Nigeria in 1961 and British East Africa became 20 small nations at Independence. The motions and discussions for Independence were not based on the whims and caprices of individuals but involved deep thoughts, planning, thinking, debates in parliaments. When the motion was moved for Nigeria`s Independence, Southern Cameroon moved a motion not be part of Nigeria. We never heard ZIK and Eastern Nigerians politicians, representatives, Chiefs or legal minds raised any counter motion to withdraw from Nigeria, even at Independence or when Nigeria became a Republic.
Have you read the charge sheet against Kanu? Did Mr President said that, Kanu was being charged for entering Nigeria without
traveling document? What Mr President response was even rhetorically,as he said ` do you know the one you call Kanu holds a British and
Nigerian passports and he entered the country without using any of them? That, Kanu brought sophisticated equipment into Nigeria and was broadcasting for Radio Biafra and he has treasonable felony hanging over his neck and hope the court will listen to the matter? Did he say that, his administration will not abide by the court`s ruling? As a Lawyer, with a fair knowledge of Nigerian jurisprudence and criminal justice system, is there any Nigerian( 1960 till date) arrested and detained for treasonable felony or terrorism ever admitted to bail? In the USA and Europe, do you have any record of any suspect arrested and detained for treasonable felony or terrorism admitted to bail? To wit, the suspected Nyanya bomber, was extradited from Sudan on the request of the FGN, discharged by a Federal High Court, whose decisions are considered Laws ,was re-arrested by the DSS and taken to custody till date under Jonathan. There were several persons granted bail but never released by the Jonathan`s govt. To wit, the APC ICT staff arrested by DSS, were kept in DSS custody till few days to Jonathan`s exit in spite of court orders. Nobody called for Jonathan`s resignation or impeachment. Large swat of Nigerian territory bigger than SE were seized and occupied by insurgents, millions declared refugees, displaced and now IDPS, scores killed during a a scam NIS recruitment, National Assembly invaded , parliamentarians tear gazed and prevented from gaining access into their chambers. There were no calls for impeachment on all these impeachable offenses. You are calling for an impeachment of a President not DSS DG
or Minister for Justice to resign for DSS detaining terror suspects and sponsors of terrorism. You can call PMB what ever name you desire. He was democratically elected by Nigerians as their President for 4 years to protect and defend Nigeria`s territorial integrity and to protect
lives and property of every citizen. The constitution of Nigeria provides on how any citizen could renounce his or her citizenship. The
first symbolic step of Kanu and his apologists could have been for them to publicly burn their Nigerian passports, voters Id cards, relocate to
their ancestral homes and those who have return home for Xmas should never return to Nigeria. Obasanjo tore his pdp membership card publicly before he was dismissed from the party.Nigerians are very discerning.

      Please be advised that,in
addition to oaths of office PMB took, the fundamental responsibility of
any govt whether elected or unelected but in power is to defend the
national and territorial integrity of the nation and protect the lives
and property of its citizens. There is no responsive and serious nation
that will treat issues bordering of national security , dismembering of
its territorial integrity with levity. The USA where you made veiled
references never granted bail to any of the detainees held in Guantanamo
bail and others kept in secret detention. France summarily killed the
suspected Paris bombers and we never or read any online petition
against Hollande. The UK, Germany and others have joined the bombing and
killing of ISIS targets and leaders respectively in the middle east ,
because, they felt their national security is being threatened. There
is no nation or leader that is sworn into office based on the UN
Charter. There is no nation governed by UN resolutions or charter or its
leader impeached for not respecting the UN Charter. If there is any,
please let us know. The UN is a simply an International Organisation of
which membership is voluntary and UN resolutions could only become
national laws when they are ratified and domesticated nationally. It is
not every NGO, Groups or Organizations that is registered with the UN
that is recognized or considered legitimate in Nigeria.. That is a
fact. The laws of Nigeria just like in the USA and UK provides for every
organization, group or radio station to be duly registered. Until
recently, USA was jamming radio and TV signals coming from Cuba, Russia,
and middle East including even Al Jazeera. These are facts and not
fiction. The UN itself cannot set up any of its offices in Nigeria
without signing Headquarters Agreement with the Federal Govt of Nigeria.
There is no groupings, bodies, organisations, institutions that are
not registered or regulated in the UK and USA where you reside and
practice. Is there any media houses broadcasting illegally there? Yet,
you would prefer Nigeria to accept every form of illegality including
threats to her survival and citizens. We do not blame you guys. You were
educated in Nigeria free of charge, travelled and living abroad
sustained from stolen public money. Now that, the tap of ill gotten and
easy funds are drying up, you want to set Nigeria on fire. If the self
determination option is a viable one,let PDP and APGA include it on
their party manifestos and campaign issue. After all, Cameron position
on European Union is very clear. If self determination is the
key, majority of Nigerians shall vote for it.
      Unfortunately for you,
the Nigerian laws do not recognizes online voting or petitions. Reasons
why even TAN had to collect manual signatures for its petition to plead
with Jonathan to contest the 2015 elections. It will be better to come
down to Nigeria to collect those signatures manually if you are damn
      serious.

Deri Orbuka, why not start the revolution from your creek in Bayelsa State? Lazy jobless Ijaw man who has no problem wasting his life over something he cannot change

  • Ajie

You people are crying fowl if kanu like let him continue with agitation but you should also remember that buhari take an oat to keep nigeria as one. So releasing one kilo of nigeria land to greedy people like you and kanu is impossible.

    • zacchaeus Akinleye

Your argument betrays a lazy attorney who lacks basic logic skills. If you have the balls, why not offer to represent Kanu in his treasonable felony trial instead of yakking on the sides?

    • ALBERT

Your arguments coming from a Lawyer are embarrassing. Did the Burundian crises emanate from the Executive non compliance with court orders or from a constitutional amendments allowing the incumbent to run for a 3rd term against the spirit and character of the Burundian peace accord? What is your understanding of self determination principle vis a vis any sovereign state? Is there any sovereign state whose constitution recognizes the right to `self determination of any of its people or constituents? Does the Nigerian constitution or any legal instruments provide for self determination of any political or ethnic group?

Reasons why, most African, Caribbean and Asian colonies were granted Independence at that period and subsequently. Baifra has no special status under the Nigerian constitution and it is not a colony or UN trustee under Nigeria, like Southen Cameroon under Nigeria, Namiba under South Africa or Togo land ( Present day Volta region in Ghana.

Did Mr President said that, Kanu was being charged for entering Nigeria without traveling document? What Mr President response was even rhetorically, as he said ` do you know the one you call Kanu holds a British and Nigerian passports and he entered the country without using any of them? To wit, the suspected Nyanya bomber, was extradited from Sudan on the request of the FGN, discharged by a Federal High Court, whose decisions are considered Laws , was re-arrested by the DSS and taken to custody till date under Jonathan. There were several persons granted bail but never released by the Jonathan`s govt. To wit, the APC ICT staff arrested by DSS, were kept in DSS custody till few days to Jonathan`s exit in spite of court orders. Nobody called for Jonathan`s resignation or impeachment. Large swat of Nigerian territory bigger than SE were seized and occupied by insurgents, millions declared refugees, displaced and now IDPS, scores killed during a a scam NIS recruitment, National Assembly invaded and parliamentarian tear gazed and prevented from gaining access into their officers. There were no calls for impeachment on all these impeachable offenses. You are calling for an impeachment of a President not DSS DG or Minister for Justice to resign for DSS detaining terror suspects.

Please be advised that,in addition to oaths of office PMB took, the fundamental responsibility of any govt whether elected or unelected but in power is to defend the national and territorial integrity of the nation and protect the lives and property of its citizens. There is no responsive and serious nation that will treat issues bordering of national security , dismembering of its territorial integrity with levity. The USA where you made veiled references never granted bail to any of the detainees held in Guantanamo bail and others kept in secret detention. France summarily killed the suspected Paris bombers and we never or read any online petition against Hollande. The UK, Germany and others have joined the bombing and killing of ISIS targets and leaders respectively in the middle east , because, they felt their national security is being threatened. There is no nation or leader that is sworn into office based on the UN Charter. There is no nation governed by UN resolutions or charter or its leader impeached for not respecting the UN Charter. If there is any, please let us know. The UN is a simply an International Organisation of which membership is voluntary and UN resolutions could only become national laws when they are ratified and domesticated nationally. On behalf of my family and I, I would like to wish all Nigerians a Happy New Year. We are all brothers and sisters born from the womb of one Nigeria and as I have said previously, we would not be Nigerians if God did not will it.

Having found ourselves as Nigerians by the divine providence of God, let us celebrate our Nigerianness and make 2016 our turning point year in which we embrace each other and work as a team to advance the frontiers of Nigeria in every field of human endeavour.
In the 80s, our people sang and danced to the hit song ‘Nigeria go survive’. I am convinced that in 2016, Nigeria will not only survive, she will also thrive and help drive the peace, prosperity and unity of all her people. This is something we can all look forward to
in the New Year and beyond.

May God bless you and may God bless Nigeria

Indeed it never ceases to amaze me the way the supporters of Buhari and the APC are so fanatical and dogmatic that they let go every iota of logic or reasoning in their argument.
Just take time to read all that Metuh has said is he right or wrong. Compare and contrast the way and manner both El-rufai and Lai describe the then President and the comments of Metuh on Buhari.
Then how about the description of Buhari as a tyrant. That is candid observation of his comments during the chat and yet substantiate same. But could that be said of the name callers like ElRufai and Lai the liar.

For a birefmperiod, justnafter handing over to the present APC administrarion I thought we’d have a credible opposition, one that would stand out and give the APC a run for thier money but it didnt take long for them to show how empty they arethe president is not God but the presidency is a respected office and the one who occupies such a seat shiuld treat it and as thus be treated likewise. The jonathan administration mentioned this too. Please be exemplonary and not a party seeking for relevance. We need worthy opposition so we have a choice at the polls

Did u the Yorubas respect Jonathan for a second? I beg Separation is the only answer————U abused Jonathan all over the place–Not one Yoruba man was able to say the office of the president was a respectable one–the likes of soyinka and Obj-took the presidency of jonathan to cleaners—but now that PDP is giving it back to the Jihadist and the Apes in APC in aso rock–them fume and fret over nothing–Buhari has even lost all the respect attached to the office of the president—with his TOTAL disregard for the rule of law

Deri, your people are once more slacking and going behind to take bribes and stipends as the Fulani run around the delta with your stolen monies doing divide and rule. Is it not a shame that your son GEJ is being hounded about and his people take the backstage in protecting him ?

  • budget of doom

“I thought that with the Muhammadu Buhari change mantra, the era of budgeting huge amount for frivolous things in the Presidency would become history in Nigeria. Unfortunately, the reverse is the case as seen from the 2016 budget submitted to the national Assembly.”
In spite of the poverty, disease, hunger and malnutrition pervading this country, the Buhari administration had the effrontery to budget about the following: —– Yemi Adebowale: yemi.adebowale=AT=thisdaylive

    1. N3.7 billion = Purchase of BMW salon cars for the Presidency’s principal officers.
    2. N189 million = was voted to “buy tyres” for vehicles being used in the Presidency.
    3. N1.415 billion = Local and international travels to N1.415 billion as against the N944,672,109 spent in 2015.
    4. N326 million = allocated for Aso Rock Wildlife Conservation, purchase of exotic animals (Abacha also kept Lions in Aso Rock)
    5. N89 million = Allocation of presidential canteen materials and kitchen equipment for the Presidency.
    6. N104.7m = State House budget for refreshments and meals.
    7. N102.9 million = Foodstuff and catering materials for presidency
    8. N764.67 million = was proposed for “construction of recreational facilities in the Presidency
    9. N3.65 billion = Presidential fleet maintenance expenses in 2016.
    10. N16.6 million = for supply of foodstuff and catering services for Vice President in 2016

From the above, it is clear that Buhari, his wife Aisha and their 2 resident children in Aso Rock will feed themselves everyday in 2016 with the sum of N286,800 (two hundred and eighty sic thousand Naira) everyday. This is what it will cost from the N104.7m budgeted for one year feeding. This is pure madness. How can 4 persons eat food worth N286,800 everyday? Why is PT not analizing these for the public?

Dear Nigerians, thee 2016 budget for the Presidency is filled with all sorts of repulsive expenditure. So, this is the change Nigerians voted for?

Go and learn to differentiate between “advise” (verb) and “advice” (noun).

I don’t even see PDP condescending into the pit of indiscretion and the very depth of gutter languages that APC/Lai Mohammed used freely against Jonathan/PDP while they were in office?!

When compared, what Metuh says about Buhari/APC could pass for high praises, so APC should shut-up and take what they dished out to another in high acidic quantity to another – after all, what is good for the goose is also good for the gander!!!
